Eucommia granules activate Wnt/ β-catenin pathway, and improve oxidative stress, inflammation, and endothelial injury in preeclampsia rats
CONCLUSIONS: EG may activate the Wnt/β-catenin pathway and inhibit oxidative stress, inflammation, and vascular endothelial injury in PE rats, thereby improving the perinatal prognosis of preeclamptic rats. EG may inhibit oxidative stress, inflammation, and vascular endothelial injury through activation of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway in preeclampsia rats, thereby improving perinatal outcomes in PE rats.PMID:38629649 | PMC:PMC11020635 | DOI:10.1590/acb391524 (Source: Acta Cirurgica Brasileira)

E-cadherin and NF- κB expression in the vagina after ovarian ischemia and reperfusion
CONCLUSIONS: Ovarian ischemia caused degeneration of epithelial cells in the vaginal region and disruptions in the cell junction complex, which leads to activation of E-cadherin and NF-κB signaling pathway and alterations in reproductive and embryonal development in the vaginal region.PMID:38629650 | PMC:PMC11020660 | DOI:10.1590/acb391724 (Source: Acta Cirurgica Brasileira)

Factors associated with surgical resection in patients with Crohn's disease: long-term evaluation
CONCLUSIONS: Patients with CD still frequently need surgical treatment. Smoking (current or past), longer disease time, stenosing and fistulizing behavior, and ileo-colonic localization in CD patients were associated with a higher risk of surgery. Awareness about factors associated with unfavorable outcome allows such patients to be treated more appropriately.PMID:38629651 | PMC:PMC11020661 | DOI:10.1590/acb391924 (Source: Acta Cirurgica Brasileira)

Effects of curcumin supplementation on abdominal surgical wound healing
CONCLUSIONS: Curcumin supplementation was able to significantly reduce inflammatory parameters in both pre-and post-operative phases of abdominal surgical wounds in rats.PMID:38629652 | PMC:PMC11020632 | DOI:10.1590/acb392124 (Source: Acta Cirurgica Brasileira)

Metabolic and ultrastructural renal changes in adult Wistar rats fed by a cafeteria diet
CONCLUSIONS: The intake of lipids and simple carbohydrates were found to be associated with alteration in the glomerular ultrastructure. However, more studies are needed to evaluate not only the effects of high-protein and high-fat diets on components of the glomerular filtration barrier, but also renal physiology.PMID:38629653 | PMC:PMC11020636 | DOI:10.1590/acb392224 (Source: Acta Cirurgica Brasileira)

5HT2A modulation attenuates pancreatic cancer induced pain mouse model by inhibiting HDAC
CONCLUSIONS: Data revealed that 5HT2A antagonist ameliorates pain associated with pancreatic cancer mice by HDAC inhibition and inflammatory cytokines. The result of investigation supports that modulation of 5HT2A receptor could be used clinically to protects neuropathic pain in pancreatic cancer.PMID:38629654 | PMC:PMC11020633 | DOI:10.1590/acb392324 (Source: Acta Cirurgica Brasileira)
