What are others’ experiences with incentive bonus requirements?
I’ve spoken with a few other groups I know of about having a quarterly incentive bonus in the anesthesia group contract with the hospital.
They’ve had variations from the group hitting easily obtainable units/qtr to obtaining easy QI goals like PONV treatment or patient temperature mitigation strategies.

I just received a LOI for a private practice partnership track position that seems like an ideal fit professionally and personally. Vesting period tail coverage?
Hospitalist here. Looking to sign with a multi specialty group.
Contract states tail coverage has a vesting period of 6 years. In other words, if I leave for ANY reason before year 6, I would have to pay for my own tail coverage.
Deal breaker or no? My goal is to have them drop the waiting period. But if that is not possible, what is a reasonable number of years? All of my prior jobs have provided tail without any required duration of employment with them.

NAPA and Orange County, CA
Uh oh. Things seem to be getting even worse for anesthesiologists in Orange County, California. NAPA has reportedly picked up the pieces of three contracts that Envision either lost or is giving up.
For the sake of those anesthesiologists, I hope they don't have to answer to the Chief Swindler, WT, who works at the a not-quite-a-hospital Orange (Orange Global, it might still be calling itself).

Received an insurance fee schedule, it was much worse than expected! (is this normal?)
Hi, everyone! I'm transitioning to private practice and working on getting credentialed with a couple of the "good" insurances from my area. With one of the large insurance companies, it has been going very well. However, I just received a contract/fee schedule from another insurer. Here were their approximate rates for a level 5 new intake (99205):
Physician: ~$160
NP/PA: ~$190
MSW: slightly higher(?!) than the physician rate
Any idea what is going on? I know other psychiatrists get paid...

Sale to Private Equity, will I lose bonus?
1 year into practice and received the dreaded news that the current owner is selling to PE.
Per my contract, my productivity bonus based on collections does not get distributed until after the new year.

Doing locums work directly?
I've done some locums work lately, and although the pay is good, more than once I've had the contract the temp agency has with the clients get leaked to me. And... Well, the mark ups are insane. 70% plus in one case. Which makes me wonder...

Buying Into a Practice
I am planning to buy into a practice in August once my associate contract expires. The doc that's retired is working on a proposal for sale of his stock.
