Thoughts on CMG controlling shifts
Working as an IC for TeamHealth and just got an email telling us:
Limit our ability to take days off if the number of people asking for off is full
Give advanced notice for approval if we are going to take more than 5 days off
Going forward if there is a hole on a day you entered each shift because it was full you will be asked to open that date up
As an IC, I thought that they could not control our availability and ability to work certain days and the contract does not...

Corporate omfs straight out of residency?
Just curious if anyone has worked for a corporation straight out residency and is willing to share their experience, contract #s, location. I wanted to start my own place right out while working corporate.
Also, were there any issues with board certification after if one was to not take trauma call/be affiliated with a trauma center of any kind and just be involved with a community hospital?
I'd appreciate the insight.

Median $/wRVU Heme Onc - Different Surveys
Hello seasoned Heme Oncs -
What is the median $/wRVU your hospital pays for comp?
Ours in a small semi-urban setting is about $83-84 since new CMS updates. about 3.5 hrs away from a large city.
They follow Sullivan Cotter but do not share data.
Planning on negotiation discussion but difficult to get Sullivan Cotter data for fair negotiations.
Anyone knows where to buy it from? any contract attorneys out there who can share data/consult with a fee?

What else to ask for in contract negotiations
Do you all have any suggestions for additional clauses to include in your contract during negotiations? Anything you wish you had negotiated or added? Any unique "asks"? WRVUs / Productivity for Hospital Employment
Can anyone with experience being employed by a hospital based MSG group break the following down for me:
Say I sign a contract with a hospital for 2 years, the contract advises it will pay the greater of either a base salary $2xx,xxx or sum equal to wRVUs performed.
In the instance I’m seeing at least 25-30 patients a day with an estimated 3-4 days of clinic + 1-2 days of surgery, would it be feasible to make over 300k in the first year with wRVU productivity?

My recruiter told me that my MEPS is scheduled from 10/4 to 10/5.
Since I'm a HPSP applicant, I was wondering if I have to swear in by the end of MEPS. Also, is there anything that I have to be careful about when signing the forms and contracts?

Hospital Stipend Negotiation
I recently joined a small physician only group that works primarily at a mid-size community hospital. Since this group has been there, they have not had a stipend of any kind, and have always provided 24/7/365 in-house coverage, including covering main ORs and OB. We have recently broached the topic of the stipend and admin seem very receptive and understanding. Our contract is up for renegotiation, and we will be including a request for a stipend.

What to ask for in a nocturnist contract?
I'm a relatively new residency grad (IM) and have been a full time nocturnist at a community hospital in a small city for the last year. I'm trying to make adjustments for my contract renewal but don't know many full-time nocturnists so am not sure what to ask for or if I am asking too much.

Attendings: do you pay your tax all at once or throughout the year?
I know many of you don’t work employment but rather contract or locums. Do you pay your entire tax bill at once or do you have your group/agency withhold it throughout the year?

New Employer: is this normal???
Long story short, entire system went under and everyone was given a contract to continue working from the bigger dog in the area. Everyone was in a vulnerable position and overall was provided reasonable pay in my opinion to remain in their clinics with somewhat similar staff, same patients, etc.
New employer has taken away much of our autonomy. None of the following were in the contract, but could potentially refer to policies listed elsewhere. Are these things normal?
