NAPA Now in Trouble in Maryland
Apparently, NAPA has been fired from Greater Baltimore Medical Center. Since Spring ‘20, when NAPA bought the Greater Baltimore Medical Center contract from Mednax, there was a mass exodus of anesthesiologists and now they don’t have enough anesthesiologists to staff the ORs. Sounds like the same issue as in NJ and NV. Anyone else hear anything about this? What is happening with NAPA in Maryland or is this just more NAPA dominoes falling, like in other parts of the country? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

3 year contract.
500k base for 5000 RVU
$98/RVU above 5000
50k sign on
4.5 days/week
~15-17 pts/day
Call 1:5 (clinic in mornings and then hospital in afternoon - with NP there full time M-F. Weekends are solo)
EPIC
30 days vacation, holidays, etc
5 days CME, $6000

NAPA in trouble in NJ
You heard it here first. the same situation that happened with NAPA in Nevada, is happening at RWJ Barnabas health, the largest system in New Jersey. They took over this practice from Mednax in 2020 and, as is typical, tried to underpay and understaff. The $hit hit the fan when all the legacy partners initial contracts were up and none of the Docs would resign with NAPA. DSO contracts/experience
How negotiable is a contract with a DSO? If I already have things like disability, malpractice, health, and vision insurance, can I negotiate to not have those things and receive a higher minimum, sign on bonus, or higher collections?
Also, I'm seeing a lot people talk about DSOs trying everything they can to not pay daily guarantee, sign-on bonus, and correct collections... What are the things to look at for to make sure all money is received correctly? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Collections based contract - possible slavery?
If one signs a collection based contract, could the employer theoretically have the signee work for free by not scheduling you any procedures that will collect? 1099 personal malpractice insurance
I've been offered a contract as a 1099 locums at the local hospital. However, I have to provide my own malpractice insurance. Anyone have recommendations for which insurance carrier I should use?
