Micromapping testicular sperm extraction: A new technique for microscopic testicular sperm extraction in nonobstructive azoospermia
CONCLUSIONS: MMTSE shows promise as a simple method that comprehensively searches testicular tissue and retrieves sperm using an appropriate method while minimizing patient burden.PMID:38476958 | PMC:PMC10927935 | DOI:10.1002/rmb2.12566 (Source: Reproductive Biology)

Effects of < em > Perilla frutescens < /em > Var. Acuta in Busulfan-Induced Spermatogenesis Dysfunction Mouse Model
CONCLUSIONS: This study shows that PFA exerts a protective effect against testicular damage by attenuating OS induced by busulfan. Our results suggest that PFA is a potentially relevant drug used to decrease the side effects induced by busulfan on testicular function and sperm during cancer chemotherapy.PMID:38449453 | DOI:10.5534/wjmh.230254 (Source: Cancer Control)

Achieving an optimal pregnancy outcome through the combined utilization of micro-TESE and ICSI in cryptorchidism associated with a non-canonical splicing variant in RXFP2
ConclusionThis is the first cryptorchidism case carrying a novel causative non-canonical splicingRXFP2 variant. The combined approach of micro-TESE and ICSI contributed to an optimal pregnancy outcome. Our literature review demonstrated thatRXFP2 variants caused cryptorchidism in a recessive inheritance pattern, rather than a dominant pattern. (Source: Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics)

A detection model of testis ‐derived circular RNAs in serum for predicting testicular sperm retrieval rate in non‐obstructive azoospermia patients
Discussion and conclusionOur study was the first to report that testis-derived circular RNAs in serum have the ability to predict sperm retrieval rate in non-obstructive azoospermia patients, whether it is a single-circular RNA or a combination of multi-circular RNAs. (Source: Andrology)

Association of Y chromosome AZF region microdeletions with recurrent miscarriage in Iranian couples: A case-control study
CONCLUSION: Microdeletions in sY134 (AZFb) were significantly associated with RPL in Iranian men (p = 0.03). AZF microdeletion screening in couples with RPL can provide valuable information for ethnical genetic counseling and management of recurrent miscarriage. Further studies on larger populations or across various ethnic groups, conclusions and the inclusion of other factors like epigenetic changes explain the role of AZF microdeletions in RPL.PMID:38407572 | DOI:10.1002/mgg3.2392 (Source: Molecular Medicine)

Genetic profiling of azoospermic men to identify the etiology and predict reproductive potential
ConclusionsSperm genome profiling provides invaluable information on azoospermia etiology and identifies gene-related mechanistic links to reproductive performance. Moreover, RNAseq assessment of seminal fluid from NOA men can help predict sperm retrieval during testicular biopsies. (Source: Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics)

Discovery of a novel miRNA involved in the regulation of male infertility in zebrafish
In this study, by analyzing miRNA transcriptome of the mature triploid zebrafish testis afflicted with spermatogenic dysfunctions, leading to the identification of 36 miRNAs that are differentially expressed in comparison with diploid, which are predicted to target 2737 genes. Subsequent functional annotation of these genes pinpointed two miRNAs might association with spermatogenesis. Inhibitory experiments showed that NC_007115.7.7_998,413 inhibited conducts a substantial decline in sperm density, and conducted lower embryo fertilization rate than control. And putative target genes qRT-PCR evaluation showed that spata2 wa...
