Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTEffective treatments for nonobstructive azoospermia (NOA), which affects 1% of all men globally, are limited by undefined pathogenic mechanisms, especially in idiopathic NOA (iNOA). Here, we tried to identify the functional ferroptosis-related genes and phenotypes involved in iNOA. Differentially expressed ferroptotic genes were identified from iNOA mRNA microarray datasets by bioinformatic analyses, and these ferroptotic genes were subsequently filtered by various algorithms. Then, receiver operating characteristic (RO...

Changing trends in sperm parameters among men seeking infertility evaluation: a single-center study in southeastern u.s
This study aimed to investigate the changing trends in sperm parameters among men seeking infertility evaluation in suburban/rural southeastern U.S. region in 17 years over two study periods, 2006-2015 and 2016-2023periods, with a focus on azoospermia, and oligozoospermia. Impact of history of in vitro fertilization (ivf)/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (icsi) cycles using aspirated sperm: non-obstructive azoospermia (noa) vs azoospermia secondary to vasectomy
To evaluate the impact of the use of ICSI for IVF cycles combined with preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidies (PGT-A) in patients with NOA and to those with obstructive azoospermia secondary to vasectomy (OAV) in order to draw conclusions for or against the routine use of PGT for patients diagnosed with severe male factor infertility. The new device for the predictor of sperm retrieval in microdissection testicular sperm extraction (micro tese)
The ideal technique of sperm extraction from testicle for non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA) would be minimally invasive and avoid destruction of testicular function without compromising the chance of retrieval adequate numbers of spermatozoa to perform ISCI. The possibility to including the sperm of larger seminiferous tubules is bigger than sclerotic seminiferous tubules. Whether the sperm is able to be collected or impossibility is not understood if not operating. Additionally, the operation is costly and physically large burden for patients. Single-cell sequencing analysis reveals the unique death pattern of testicular somatic cells in non-obstructive azoospermia patients
The testicular volume of patients with non-obstructive azoospermia is reduced, not only the number of spermatogenic cells is decreased or even disappeared, but also the number of somatic cells is decreased. This is due to somatic cells suffering from damage and undergoing cell death, resulting in impairment of their function to support spermatogenic cells. However, reports on the mode of death of testicular somatic cells are varied and systematic studies are lacking. Here, we aimed to explore the unique death pattern of testicular somatic cells in non-obstructive azoospermia patients through single-cell sequencing analysis...

Clinical outcomes and morphokinetics after intracytoplasmic sperm injection (icsi) using extracted testicular sperm or ejaculated severe oligo-astheno-teratozoospermia(oat) sperm: a comparative study
ICSI has been successfully used to achieve fertilization and pregnancies for patients with severe oligo-astheno-teratozoospermia(OAT) using ejaculated sperms or patients with azoospermia using testicular sperms. Azoospermia and consequent use of surgically retrieved testicular sperm results in lower fertilization rates, impaired embryonic development or lower embryonic implantation. But a recent published studies suggests that in men with similar etiology, sperm origin (whether testis or epididymis) does not seem to affect clinical outcomes. (Source: Fertility and Sterility)
