Not unusual case of male genetic infertility
Ann Biol Clin (Paris). 2024 Feb 24;81(6):657-659. doi: 10.1684/abc.2023.1860.ABSTRACTFollowing a year of regular unprotected intercourse with his partner, and without achieving pregnancy, Mr. L. turned to his general practitioner. A semen analysis was carried out and no spermatozoa was found. After being referred to a male infertility specialist, the patient underwent a second test and a comprehensive assessment of his azoospermia. The azoospermia was confirmed and the genetic investigation revealed aneuploidy..PMID:38391171 | DOI:10.1684/abc.2023.1860 (Source: Annales de Biologie Clinique)

Testicular volume is a noninvasive predictor of sperm retrieval failure in idiopathic nonobstructive azoospermia
In conclusion, a testicular volume of more than 6.5 ml effectively predicts microsurgical testicular sperm extraction failure due to a uniform tubule distribution in patients with iNOA.PMID:38353461 | DOI:10.4103/aja202379 (Source: Asian Journal of Andrology)

A hemizygous loss-of-function variant in BCORL1 is associated with male infertility and oligoasthenoteratozoospermia
In conclusion, our findings indicate that BCORL1 is a potential candidate gene in the pathogenesis of OAT and NOA, expanded its disease spectrum and suggested that BCORL1 may play a role in spermatogenesis by interacting with SKP1.PMID:38342987 | DOI:10.1111/cge.14500 (Source: Clinical Genetics)

Association of Y chromosome AZF region microdeletions with recurrent miscarriage in Iranian couples: A case –control study
ConclusionMicrodeletions in sY134 (AZFb) were significantly associated with RPL in Iranian men (p = 0.03). AZF microdeletion screening in couples with RPL can provide valuable information for ethnical genetic counseling and management of recurrent miscarriage. Further studies on larger populations or across various ethnic groups, conclusions and the inclusion of other factors like epigeneti c changes explain the role of AZF microdeletions in RPL. Ex vivo microscopic testicular sperm extraction at the time of radical orchiectomy in men with nonobstructive azoospermia (NOA): a scoping review
In conclusion, Onco-mTESE at the time of radical orchiectomy appears to be a promising therapeutic option for young patients with testicular tumors. Nevertheless, additional studies are necessary to achieve a definitive conclusion.PMID:38319197 | DOI:10.4103/aja202387 (Source: Asian Journal of Andrology)
