Johathan Kagan - Initiation and Regulation of Innate Immunity.
Dr. Kagan's research focuses on understanding the organization of signal transduction pathways within cells of the mammalian immune system. As a model, he focuses his attention on members of the Toll-like Receptor family (TLR) family of proteins. TLRs play a critical role in the detection and elimination of infectious microorganisms that enter the human body. Signaling events that occur downstream from TLR-mediated microbial detection are the primary source of interest to the Kagan lab. Understanding the assembly and regulation of these signaling complexes is directly relevant to the study of human infections, autoimmunity...

Julie Zikherman - Balancing tolerance and immunity downstream of the antigen receptor
This reporter serves as an in vivo sensor of both self and foreign antigen encounter, and serves to unmask enormous clonal heterogeneity among superficially uniform populations of B cells. Recent work has focused on dissecting the distinct roles of the IgM and IgD B cell receptor isotypes in regulating the immune responses of self-reactive B cells. For more information go tohttps://www.niaid.nih.gov/research/immunology-seminarsAir date: 12/7/2022 3:00:00 PM (Source: Videocast - All Events)
