Correlation of 3'-Phosphoadenosine-5'-Phosphosulfate synthase 1 (PAPSS1) expression with clinical parameters and prognosis in esophageal squamous carcinoma
CONCLUSIONS: PAPSS1 may be an ESCC suppressor gene, and its specific molecular mechanism in ESCC needs to be further studied.PMID:36734141 | DOI:10.14670/HH-18-590

A20 functions as a negative regulator of the lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammation in corneal epithelial cells
Exp Eye Res. 2023 Jan 27:109392. doi: 10.1016/j.exer.2023.109392. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTA20, also called TNFAIP3, is a crucial regulator of inflammation in various diseases but has not evidenced its function in the cornea. We aimed to evaluate the existence and the functions of A20 in human corneal epithelial (HCE-T) cells. After being treated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in different concentrations or at separate times, cells were collected to analyze A20 expressions. We then constructed the A20 knockdown system by siRNA and the A20 overexpressing system by lentivirus transduction. Systems were further exposed to...

Cytoskeletal orchestration of glucose uptake in Sertoli cell to support efferocytosis of apoptotic germ cells
In this study, we identified a cross-regulation between glucose metabolism and efferocytosis in SCs. Pharmacological or genetic inhibition of glucose uptake or glycolysis compromises efferocytosis activity. We further found that βII-spectrin is a hitherto unappreciated regulator of glucose metabolism and cytoskeletal architecture. βII-spectrin deficiency impairs glucose uptake and lactate production in SCs. Moreover, a defective assembly of cytoskeleton and a loss of blood-testis barrier integrity are also featured by SCs deficient in βII-spectrin. The disruption in glucose metabolism and cytoskeletal organization syner...

Downregulation of Sonic hedgehog signaling induces G2-arrest in genital warts
CONCLUSIONS: The downregulation of the SHh signaling promotes HPV replication and the formation of warts by inducing G2/M arrest in the keratinocytes of CA.PMID:36704875 | DOI:10.1111/srt.13265

MLL4 Regulates the Progression of Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer by Regulating the PI3K/AKT/SOX2 Axis
CONCLUSION: Our findings identify an important role of MLL4 in lung carcinogenesis through transcriptional regulation of PIK3IP1, affecting the PI3K/AKT/SOX2 axis, and suggest that MLL4 could be a potential prognostic indicator and target for non-small cell lung cancer therapy.PMID:36701842 | DOI:10.4143/crt.2022.1042
