P3H4 Overexpression Serves as a Prognostic Factor in Lung Adenocarcinoma
CONCLUSION: The present study systematically evaluated the functional and clinical values of P3H4 in LUAD, and explored the related biological pathways. P3H4 might promote LUAD progression through regulating tumor microenvironment-related pathways.PMID:34257701 | PMC:PMC8249155 | DOI:10.1155/2021/9971353

Osteopontin silencing attenuates bleomycin-induced murine pulmonary fibrosis by regulating epithelial-mesenchymal transition
In this study, we knocked down OPN in a bleomycin (BLM)-induced pulmonary fibrosis (PF) mouse model using small interfering RNA (siRNA) to determine whether the use of OPN siRNA is an effective therapeutic strategy for IPF. We found that fibrosing areas were significantly smaller in specimens from OPN siRNA-treated mice. The number of alveolar macrophages, neutrophils, and lymphocytes in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid was also reduced in OPN siRNA-treated mice. Regarding the expression of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT)-related proteins, the administration of OPN-siRNA to BLM-treated mice upregulated E-cadherin expre...

KRT18 Modulates Alternative Splicing of Genes Involved in Proliferation and Apoptosis Processes in Both Gastric Cancer Cells and Clinical Samples
Keratin 18 (KRT18), one of the most abundant keratins in epithelial and endothelial cells, has been reported to be aberrantly expressed in many malignancies and extensively regarded as a biomarker and important regulator in multiple cancers, including gastric cancer (GC). But the molecular regulatory mechanisms of KRT18 in GC patients and cells are largely unknown. In the present study, we analyzed the expression level of KRT18 in 450 stomach adenocarcinoma tissue samples from TCGA database and found a significantly higher expression level in tumor tissues. We then explored the potential functions of KRT18 in AGS cells (hu...

Cancers, Vol. 13, Pages 2986: Nucleolin Targeting by N6L Inhibits Wnt/ β-Catenin Pathway Activation in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma
In conclusion, in this study, we identified β-catenin as a new nucleolin interactor and suggest that the Wnt/β-catenin pathway could be a new target of the nucleolin antagonist N6L in PDAC.

Complement factor B regulates cellular senescence and is associated with poor prognosis in pancreatic cancer
ConclusionsOur data indicate that CFB, a key secreted protein, promotes proliferation by preventing cellular senescence and is associated with immunological tumor promotion in PDAC. These findings suggest that CFB may be a potential target for the treatment of PDAC.

p62 Overexpression Promotes Bone Metastasis of Lung Adenocarcinoma out of LC3-Dependent Autophagy
p62 protein has been implicated in bone metastasis and is a multifunctional adaptor protein usually correlated with autophagy. Herein, we investigated p62 expression and its prognostic significance in bone metastasis of lung adenocarcinoma, and analyzed whether the mechanism involved depends on autophagy. mRNA and protein expression of p62, LC3B and Beclin 1 were detected by reverse transcription-quantitative PCR and western blotting, respectively, in fresh bone metastasis tissues (n=6 cases) and normal cancellous bone tissues (n=3 cases). The association between p62 and LC3B expression and patient prognosis was subsequent...

Sodium bicarbonate transporter NBCe1 regulates proliferation and viability of human prostate cancer cells LNCaP and PC3
In conclusion, our study demonstrates that NBCe1 regulates acid extrusion in prostate cancer cells and inhibiting or abolishing this transporter decreases cancer cell proliferation.PMID:34013380 | DOI:10.3892/or.2021.8080

GSE173433 Single-cell RNA-seq following APE1/Ref-1 knockdown in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma
Series Type : Expression profiling by high throughput sequencingOrganism : Homo sapiensAPE1 was knocked down using siRNA in low passage patient-derived PDAC cells and the resulting cells, along with control cells were analysed using scRNA-seq to identify differentially expressed genes and pathways as a result of APE1 knock-down.

GSE164921 Global transcriptomic changes in alveolar epithelial type II (ATII) cells upon GRK6 depletion based on RNA-seq
Contributors : Y Zhou ; L Yao ; S Yao ; Y WangSeries Type : Expression profiling by high throughput sequencingOrganism : Homo sapiensG protein coupled receptor kinase 6 (GRK6) is a member of the GRKs family, which is expressed in various tissues and involved in the development of several diseases, including lung adenocarcinoma. Our previous study suggested that GRK6 expression was significantly down-regulated in lung adenocarcinoma patients, and its level was an independent prognostic factor for overall survival. Here, by performing RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq) in alveolar epithelial type II (ATII) cells transfected with eithe...
