Girdin influences pancreatic cancer progression by regulating c-MYC expression
In this study, we observed that the expression of Girdin was upregulated in pancreatic cancer cells. The siRNA-mediated gene knockdown experiments showed that reduced expression of Girdin in pancreatic cancer cells inhibited cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, while promoting cell apoptosis. Functional assays revealed that c-MYC overexpression in pancreatic cancer cells could significantly increase the cell proliferation ability and rates of cell migration and invasion, while decreasing the apoptosis rate. It has been shown that phosphorylation plays a role in the functional regulation of the c-MYC gene. Subsequen...

SPTBN2, a New Biomarker of Lung Adenocarcinoma
ConclusionWe uncovered a novel gene, SPTBN2, that was significantly upregulated in LUAD tissues relative to normal tissue expression. SPTBN2 is highly expressed in LUAD, positively correlated with poor prognosis, and can promote the proliferation, migration, and invasion of LUAD cells.

Influence of Autophagy Inhibition on Lung Adenocarcinoma Cell Migration and Invasion Ability, and Efficacy of Gefitinib
Technol Cancer Res Treat. 2021 Jan-Dec;20:15330338211049000. doi: 10.1177/15330338211049000.ABSTRACTAn increasing number of studies have emphasized the role of autophagy in cancer cell metastasis and treatment of malignant tumors. Autophagy inhibitors have been widely used in combination therapies to treat advanced malignancies. Several lung adenocarcinoma cells harbor epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene mutations, and EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) are routinely used in the treatment of lung adenocarcinoma. However, a number of lung adenocarcinoma tumors do not respond or develop resistance to EGFR TKIs. ...

High-throughput Single-cell Mass Spectrometry Reveals Abnormal Lipid Metabolism in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma
Angew Chem Int Ed Engl. 2021 Sep 10. doi: 10.1002/anie.202107223. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTEven populations of clonal cells are heterogeneous, which requires high-throughput analysis methods with single-cell sensitivity. Here, we propose a rapid, label-free single-cell analytical method based on active capillary dielectric barrier discharge ionization mass spectrometry, which can analyze multiple metabolites in single cells at a rate of 38 cells/minute. Multiple cell types (HEK-293T, PANC-1, CFPAC-1, H6c7, HeLa and iBAs) were discriminated successfully. We found that abnormal lipid metabolism occurs in pancreatic canc...

P3H4 Overexpression Serves as a Prognostic Factor in Lung Adenocarcinoma
CONCLUSION: The present study systematically evaluated the functional and clinical values of P3H4 in LUAD, and explored the related biological pathways. P3H4 might promote LUAD progression through regulating tumor microenvironment-related pathways.PMID:34257701 | PMC:PMC8249155 | DOI:10.1155/2021/9971353
