Should I take physiology or endocrinology?
Hi everyone! I'm planning to take my MCAT around January 2021, so this fall I have room in my schedule to take either human physiology or endocrinology and need help deciding which one. Which class would be more helpful for the MCAT? Thank you! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

A few pulmonary physiology questions...
Hopefully someone can help a rising fellow with a few topics (some basic) that have come up and I haven't been able to get a good explanation for: - How exactly does a CHF exacerbation cause hypercapneic respiratory failure? Pulmonary edema seems to be mainly a VQ mismatch issue and not increased dead space? - How exactly does ARDS cause increased dead space? Again, it seems like blood is still flowing through the pulmonary vasculature and it's more of shunt physiology developing with... A few pulmonary physiology questions... Can you get a Letter of Recommendation from a Kinesiology professor if the class wasn't a 'real' science class?
I had a class on human wellness that was under kinesiology, so I'm wondering if I can get a LOR from the prof I had in this class. It wasn't a real 'science-y' class much at all, we talked about things like stress management and goal-setting lol but I'm just curious. Probably not, but you never know. Our kinesiology department holds the anatomy and physiology classes and is stupidly hard so it's not like some rinky-dink bs thing or anything but yeah. Thoughts? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

My premed advisor is actively trying to sabotage me
Ok so originally I was very interested in becoming a physical therapist and owning my own practice so my undergraduate courses were chosen for that goal. I was still a bio major but I took courses such as kinesiology, exercise physiology, etc, instead of upper level science courses like molecular genetics. After observation hours and great contemplation about physical therapy, I decided late that it wasn't worth it for me, with the biggest factor being the debt to income ratio. I always... Medical College of Wisconsin Masters in Medical Physiology 2020-2021
Hello everyone. I am a Wisconsin resident and have been looking into post-bacc options. I recently applied to MCW's MMP program and have a lot of questions about it. I have seen little to nothing posted on SDN about this program. I was hoping to start a thread to see if people have applied to/completed this program and what they thought about it? OT student considering medical school -- looking for input
Hi, all I'm a first year Occupational Therapy student considering medical school and I was looking for some input about the following issues: 1. Should I wait until after graduation to take the plunge or cut my losses and start now in order to save money and time? 2. I had a winding path to get to OT, let alone medical school (BA in psych -> gap year taking chemistry and anatomy/physiology at a community college). Should I try for a postbacc? Would the community college prerequisites work... OT student considering medical school -- looking for input (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Study materials
Hello future dentists, I am a sophomore in college and I am really upset because I am worried I will not make it to dental school because I dont know wheee to begin! First off, I found a couple sellers for Kaplan Dat 2017-2018 + DAT Destroyer book of 2019 for 25 dollars. Is that a bargain? In addition, I only took bio, chem1, anatomy, and phis barely this year. This covid thing messed up my physiology class that were practically spending 1 day on 1 chapter. My teacher is also a very big... Study materials (Source: Student Doctor Network)

does A & P count for 'year of biology' classes?
Hi! Question about pre-reqs: At my school, the typical biology sequence is one quarter each of cell, animal, and plant bio. I've taken one quarter of cell bio and two quarters of anatomy&physiology - so, a year of bio classes. I don't have a school list yet, but the two schools in-state for me just ask for a "year of biology classes", and suggest that cell bio be covered. It seems to me that cell bio + the two A&P classes fulfill that requirement, but I'm wondering if I should take plant and... does A&P count for 'year of biology' classes? BEST Online DIY postbacc?
I’m living in a rural area for the next ~12 months so online is my only option for now (will take on-campus classes later). I’ve compiled a list of schools offering upper level online classes suitable for postbacc work. Questions: Are all these universities considered the same or do some look better to adcoms? Does it look better to take all or most classes at one institution? University of New England- Pathophysiology, Physiology, Biochemistry $360/... BEST Online DIY postbacc?
