FlexPES: a versatile soft X-ray beamline at MAX   IV Laboratory
FlexPES is a soft X-ray beamline on the 1.5   GeV storage ring at MAX   IV Laboratory, Sweden, providing horizontally polarized radiation in the 40 – 1500   eV photon energy range and specializing in high-resolution photoelectron spectroscopy, fast X-ray absorption spectroscopy and electron – ion/ion – ion coincidence techniques. The beamline is split into two branches currently serving three endstations, with a possibility of adding a fourth station at a free port. The refocusing optics provides two focal points on each branch, and enables either focused or defocused beam on the sample. The endstation EA01 at ...

Clinical and Physician Factors Associated With Failed Operative Vaginal Delivery
CONCLUSION: In this large, contemporary cohort with NTSV births, several clinical factors were associated with operative vaginal delivery failure. Physician experience was associated with operative vaginal delivery success, more notably for forceps attempts. These results may provide guidance for physician training in maintenance of operative vaginal delivery skills.PMID:37141591 | DOI:10.1097/AOG.0000000000005181 (Source: Obstetrics and Gynecology)

A retrospective cohort study of the characteristics of unsuccessful operative vaginal deliveries
CONCLUSION: Risk factors for unsuccessful OVD were higher birth weight and induction of labour. There was a higher incidence of postpartum haemorrhage and NICU admission when compared with successful OVD.PMID:37120912 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejogrb.2023.04.021 (Source: Reproductive Biology)

A retrospective cohort study of the characteristics of unsuccessful operative vaginal deliveries
Unsuccessful operative vaginal delivery (OVD) is associated with high rates of materno-fetal morbidity. We aimed to examine institutional rates of unsuccessful OVDs (uOVD) and compare them with successful OVD (sOVD) in order to identify factors to aid patient selection and education. Satisfaction and dissatisfaction with pain relief and birth experience among induced and spontaneous-onset labours ending in vaginal birth: A prospective cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: Induction of labour is a risk factor of dissatisfaction regarding pain relief and overall birth experience. The strongest impact on dissatisfaction among induced parturients concerning pain relief was delayed timing of effective labour analgesia. Poor pain relief, its incorrect timing and deficient information on pain relief were strong predictive factors of dissatisfaction with the overall birth experience.PMID:37035413 | PMC:PMC10073637 | DOI:10.1016/j.eurox.2023.100185 (Source: Reproductive Biology)

Precision of vacuum cup placement and its association with subgaleal hemorrhage and associated morbidity in term neonates
ConclusionSuboptimal vacuum cup positions were related to failed VE but not to SGH and other vacuum-related birth trauma. While optimal flexed median cup positions should be most desirable mechanically to effect delivery, such a position does not guarantee prevention of SGH. Outcomes among Nulliparous Women Undergoing Nonmedically Indicated Induction of Labor at 39 Weeks Compared with Expectant Management Differ by Maternal Age
Conclusion Our study demonstrated that obstetric outcomes vary among women undergoing nonmedically indicated induction of labor compared with expectant management when stratified by maternal age. These findings illustrate the importance of understanding age-related differences in outcomes associated with nonmedically indicated induction of labor.
