Primary Testicular Mucinous Adenocarcinoma —a Case Report and Review of Literature
We report a case of primary testicular mucinous adenocarcinoma managed by orchidectomy, chemotherapy, and retroperitoneal lymph node dissection. A 44-year-old gentleman presented with right testicular tumor with infiltration and ulceration of scrotal skin. Tumor markers were within normal limits. Patient underwent orchidectomy with excision of involved scrotal skin. HPE suggested mucinous adenocarcinoma of testis. Patient was then administered chemotherapy but had progression of disease and hence taken up for retroperitoneal, bilateral pelvic, and bilateral inguinal lymph node dissection with revision of spermatic cord. Pa...

Coexisting ovarian serous cystadenoma with fibroma: A very unusual combination
J Cancer Res Ther. 2023 Jul-Sep;19(5):1474-1476. doi: 10.4103/jcrt.jcrt_2319_21.ABSTRACTSurface epithelial neoplasms are the most common ovarian tumors, constituting around 60% of all ovarian malignancies. They are classified as benign, borderline, and malignant. Ovarian cystadenomas are common benign epithelial neoplasms which carry an excellent prognosis. Ovarian thecoma-fibroma groups are uncommon sex cord-stromal neoplasms, constituting 1.0%-4.0% of all ovarian tumors. Most of them are benign and often found in postmenopausal patients. Combination tumors in the ovary are known. The most common combination is mucinous c...

Borderline Brenner tumor of the ovary with mucinous metaplasia: A case report
Borderline Brenner tumor of the ovary Key Clinical MessageTo date, there have been disparate reports regarding borderline forms of Brenner tumors, while research on concomitant mucinous proliferation is even more irregular; however, it has been observed that proper diagnosis and treatment have proven to have a favorable prognosis on the aforementioned tumor.AbstractBrenner tumor is a rare epithelial ovarian neoplasm responsible for 2% –3% of all ovarian tumors. These tumors are usually asymptomatic and can usually be found incidentally in pathological studies. They can also manifest themselves as abdominal pain or abnorm...

Patient decision aids in mainstreaming genetic testing for women with ovarian cancer: A prospective cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: A longer DA in OC patients has higher satisfaction without increasing emotional distress. Older women and those undergoing treatment/recurrence prefer less extensive information, whereas those in remission preferred a longer DA.PMID:37752678 | DOI:10.1111/1471-0528.17675 (Source: BJOG : An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology)

Diagnostic roles of PAX8 immunohistochemistry in ovarian tumors
CONCLUSION: PAX8 expression rate was significantly higher in serous ovarian tumors than in mucinous ovarian tumors. In addition, PAX8 expression rates were significantly higher in primary ovarian cancers than in metastatic carcinomas.PMID:37742476 | DOI:10.1016/j.prp.2023.154822 (Source: Cell Research)

Predicting the likelihood of a BRCA1/2 pathogenic variant being somatic by testing only tumour DNA in non-mucinous high-grade epithelial ovarian cancer
Conclusions We predict the likelihood of a tumour BRCA1/2 PV being somatic is 99.8% in non-familial cases of NMEOC diagnosed aged ≥75, where the VAF is ≤30% and there is no regional germline commonality. (Source: Journal of Clinical Pathology)

Cancers, Vol. 15, Pages 4614: Primary Retroperitoneal Carcinomas: New Insights into Pathogenesis and Clinical Management in Comparison with Ovarian Carcinomas and Carcinoma of Unknown Primary
a Primary retroperitoneal carcinomas are very rare tumors. Their pathogenesis remains unknown but may be associated with that of ovarian carcinomas, considering the similarity in morphology and gender preference. Although metaplasia of coelomic epithelium is the most widely accepted theory, the pathogenesis of retroperitoneal carcinomas may differ by histologic subtype, like ovarian carcinomas. Mucinous carcinoma, which develops in both women and men, may originate in both primordial germ cells and Walthard cell nests that may be derived from the fallopian tube. Serous carcinomas may be associated with endosalpingiosis...

Clinical implications of histologic subtypes on survival outcomes in primary mucinous ovarian carcinoma
CONCLUSIONS: The IS of PMOC had poorer survival outcomes and a higher proportion of advanced-stage tumors. Although its independent prognostic significance remains uncertain, adjuvant chemotherapy should be considered for patients with fertility preservation in the IS group.PMID:37660413 | DOI:10.1016/j.ygyno.2023.08.013 (Source: Gynecologic Oncology)
