Synchronous mucinous metaplasia and neoplasia of the female genital tract (SMMN ‑FGT): A case report and literature review
Exp Ther Med. 2022 Dec 19;25(2):73. doi: 10.3892/etm.2022.11772. eCollection 2023 Feb.ABSTRACTThe present study reported a case of Synchronous Mucinous Metaplasia and Neoplasia of the Female Genital Tract (SMMN-FGT), which occurred in a 47-year-old woman. The patient complained of pelvic mass during a physical examination a month ago. Ultrasound examination found an anechoic spot in the left ovary and several anechoic spots were detected in the cervix. The patient underwent left adnexectomy and the left ovarian frozen section revealed a mucinous borderline tumor. Total abdominal hysterectomy and right salpingo-oophorectomy...

Mismatch-repair deficiency, microsatellite instability, and lynch syndrome in ovarian cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: MMRd and germline LS testing should be considered for non-serous non-mucinous EOC, particularly for endometrioid.PRECIS: The rates of mismatch repair deficiency, microsatellite instability high, and mismatch repair germline mutations are highest in endometrioid subtype and non-serous non-mucinous ovarian cancer. The rates are lowest in serous histologic subtype.PMID:36682091 | DOI:10.1016/j.ygyno.2022.12.008 (Source: Gynecologic Oncology)

Statin use improves the prognosis of ovarian cancer: An updated and comprehensive meta-analysis
Oncol Lett. 2022 Dec 23;25(2):65. doi: 10.3892/ol.2022.13648. eCollection 2023 Feb.ABSTRACTStatins are lipid-lowering agents that have also been found to have anticancer effects. The relationship between statin use and clinical outcomes in ovarian cancer (OC) remains controversial, as previous assessments of the relationship between statin use and OC prognosis have yielded inconsistent results. Therefore, a comprehensive meta-analysis was performed in the present study to investigate this association. Studies were systematically retrieved by searching the PubMed, Embase and Cochrane Library databases, and consulting refere...
