Rapid growth and malignant transformation of a mucinous cystic neoplasm during pregnancy - a case report
CONCLUSION: Cystic neoplasms of the pancreas require a differentiated management. While overtreatment should be avoided, malignant transformation always merits consideration - in particular if the cystic lesion is located in the pancreatic tail. Women with suspected MCN or cystic pancreatic lesions of uncertain etiology should be informed about the (rare) risk of a malignant transformation of an MCN and should be closely monitored during pregnancy.PMID:38657617 | DOI:10.1055/a-2239-7898 (Source: Zeitschrift fur Gastroenterologie)

Cancers, Vol. 16, Pages 1446: Ovarian Causes of Pseudomyxoma Peritonei (PMP) & mdash;A Literature Review
Conclusions. In our study, we aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of the ovarian causes of pseudomyxoma peritonei, including its epidemiology, imagery characteristics, symptoms, current treatment, and promising future therapies, in the hopes of finding feasible solutions, as a lack of understanding of this mucus-secreting malignant disease increases the risk of delayed diagnosis or uncontrolled deterioration. Establishment of a human ovarian clear cell carcinoma cell line mutant in PIK3CB but not PIK3CA
AbstractA human ovarian clear cell carcinoma cell line was established from a 46-year-old Japanese woman. That line, designated MTC-22, has proliferated continuously for over 6  months in conventional RPMI 1640 medium supplemented with 10% foetal bovine serum and has been passaged over 50 times. MTC-22 doubling-time is ~ 18 h, which is much shorter than most ovarian clear cell carcinoma lines reported to date. Morphologically, MTC-22 cells exhibit polygonal shapes an d proliferate to form a monolayer in a jigsaw puzzle-like arrangement without contact inhibition. Ultrastructurally, cells exhibit numerous intracytopla...

Investigating the Spatial Distribution of Proliferating Cells in Primary Ovarian Cancers
CONCLUSIONS: Cell proliferation is a hallmark of OCs. This study provides new evidence that investigating the Ki67+ cell density and 2D distribution pattern can assist in understanding the proliferation status of OCs. Moreover, our computer models suggest that changes in Ki67+ cell density and their location are critical for maintaining the 2D distribution pattern.PMID:38531804 | DOI:10.24976/Discov.Med.202436182.60 (Source: Discovery Medicine)
