Molybdenum oxide-based catalyst towards better hydrogen production: effects of isothermal carburization
This study underscores that the optimized duration of catalyst exposure is a key factor influencing the successful carburization of MoO3 catalysts. This emphasizes how important carbide species are to increasing H2 efficiency. Additionally, it is noted that carbon formation on the MoO3 active sites can act as a potential poison to the catalysts, leading to rapid deactivation after prolonged exposure to the CO precursor.PMID:38568305 | DOI:10.1007/s11356-024-33060-z (Source: Environmental Science and Pollution Research International)

Tuning Electrons Migration of Dual S Defects Mediated MoS2 ‐x/ZnIn2S4‐x Toward Highly Efficient Photocatalytic Hydrogen Production
Different S defects in the double S-defect catalyst MoS2-x/ZnIn2S4-x play different roles and synergistically tune electron migration to achieve higher photocatalytic hydrogen production performance. Under the influence of different types of defects, the catalyst exhibits exceptional photocatalytic properties for H2 production, which is higher than conventional single-defect or defect-free catalysts. AbstractPhotocatalytic hydrogen production is a prevalent method for hydrogen synthesis. However, high recombination rate of photogenerated carriers and high activation energy barrier of H remain persistent challenge. Here, th...

Chitosan derived N-doped carbon anchored Co < sub > 3 < /sub > O < sub > 4 < /sub > -doped MoS < sub > 2 < /sub > nanosheets as an efficient peroxymonosulfate activator for degradation of dyes
Int J Biol Macromol. 2024 Mar 23:130519. doi: 10.1016/j.ijbiomac.2024.130519. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPeroxymonosulfate (PMS), which is dominated by non-free radical pathway, has a good removal effect on organic pollutants in complex water matrices. In this article, a biodegradable cobalt-based catalyst (Co3O4/MoS2@NCS) was synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method with chitosan (CS) as nitrogen‑carbon precursor and doped with Cobaltic‑cobaltous oxide (Co3O4) and Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), and was used to activate PMS to degrade dye wastewater. Electrochemical tests showed that Co3O4/MoS2@NCS exhibited higher...

Removal of high lead concentration by hydroponic cultures of normal and transformed plants of Scirpus americanus Pers
Environ Sci Pollut Res Int. 2024 Mar 27. doi: 10.1007/s11356-024-33051-0. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTLead is a very toxic metal which affects human health. An alternative to remove it from contaminated water is the use of macrophytes, as Scirpus americanus Pers. This species is tolerant to salt and metals and has high biomass. The present research analyzed the capacity of hydroponic cultures of normal and transgenic plants (line T12) from S. americanus to remove high concentrations of lead. The antioxidant response of plants to metal exposure was also measured. The MINTEQ3.1 program was used to define the media composit...

Hybrid Membrane of Sulfonated Poly(aryl ether ketone sulfone) Modified by Molybdenum Clusters with Enhanced Proton Conductivity
Combining the superiority of sulfonated poly(aryl ether ketone sulfone) (SPAEKS) and molybdenum clusters, the 2MeIm-{Mo132}-doped SPAEKS membranes are synthesized. More water molecules can be retained in the hybrid membrane, providing abundant carriers for proton transport and proton hopping sites to build successive hydrophilic channels. Thus, the proton jump energy barrier is lowered and the proton conductivity is effectively enhanced. AbstractDeveloping novel proton exchange membranes (PEMs) with low cost and superior performance to replace Nafion is of great significance. Polyoxometalate-doped sulfonated poly(aryl ethe...

Physical activity modified association of urinary metals mixture and fasting blood glucose in children: From two panel studies
Environ Res. 2024 Mar 23:118767. doi: 10.1016/j.envres.2024.118767. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThere is unclear evidence available on the associations between multiple metals and fasting blood glucose (FBG) in children, and whether they could be beneficial from physical activity. We included 283 children aged 4-12 years from two panel studies with 4-consecutive morning urinary 13 essential metals and 10 non-essential metals repeated across 3 seasons. We employed multiple inform model, linear mixed model, and quantile g-computation to evaluate associations of single metal and their mixture with FBG and interactions with ...

The effect of secondary phase on corrosion behaviors of the titanium –zirconium–molybdenum alloy
AbstractAs the range of applications for molybdenum and its alloys has expanded, the corrosive environment for molybdenum alloys has become more demanding. In the past, the content of doping elements has been studied to investigate their influence on the corrosion performance of titanium –zirconium–molybdenum (TZM) alloys. In this paper, it is considered that the second phase in the alloy is the main factor affecting the corrosion performance of TZM alloys. By comparing the corrosion behavior of molybdenum metal and TZM alloy, the effect of the secondary phase on corrosion behav iors of TZM alloy has been investigated....

Conformal Conversion of Polyphosphazene@Sb2MoO6 Nanowires to N/S ‐Doped/Carbon‐Coated SbPO4/MoOx for High‐performance Lithium Storage
In this study, Sb2MoO6 nanowires are prepared via a hydrothermal method and assessed their thermal behavior upon heat treatment, observing an intriguing transformation from nanowire to Sb2O3/MoOx nanosheets. To enhance structure stability, the Sb2MoO6 nanowires are successfully coated with a polyphosphazene layer (referred to as PZS@Sb2MoO6), which not only preserved the nanowires form but also yielded N/S co-doped carbon-coated SbPO4/MoOx (NS-C@SbPO4/MoOx) nanowires following annealing in an inert environment. This composite benefits from the stable PO43 − anion that serve as a buffer against volume expansion and form a...
