Low-Grade Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma Originating From the Medial Rectus Muscle
Conclusions: This rare patient demonstrates that FH may originate from the medial rectus muscle. With careful surgical dissection, a near normal function of the involved muscle can be restored. (Source: Journal of Craniofacial Surgery)

Acute Trauma Precipitating the Onset of Chest Wall Myxofibrosarcoma
AbstractA previously healthy, 47-year-old male presented to his primary care physician with the complaint of a nontender, palpable breast mass discovered coincidentally 1  month after being scratched in the same location by his pet cat. Family history revealed his father was diagnosed with a soft tissue sarcoma of the thigh, 6 months following a traumatic injury in the same location. Cat scratch disease was considered; however,Bartonella Henselae antibody testing was negative. Imaging studies revealed a subpectoral mass without rib involvement. Subsequent core biopsy revealed malignant fibrous histiocytoma, myxoid type, ...

Percutaneous computed tomography-guided permanent 125I implantation as therapy for pulmonary metastasis.
Conclusions: CTRISI is safe in this group of patients with pulmonary metastases and provides reasonable results. Surgical resection remains the standard for resectable cases, but CTRISI offers an alternative for selected patients or may be used as a feasible approach in combination with surgical resection for selected patients. Primary Hepatic Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma on PET/CT
Malignant fibrous histiocytoma is mainly presented in extremities, less commonly in posterior peritoneum, but primary presented in liver is very rare and often with a poor prognosis because of its high aggression. The features of clinical presentations and images are variable and the pre-operative diagnosis is difficult. Here, we report a primary hepatic malignant fibrous histiocytoma patient with no distant metastasis showed on pre-operative 18F-FDG PET/CT, however with many metastases showed on the post-operative 18F-FDG PET/CT. Surgical Management of Head and Neck Soft Tissue Sarcoma: 11-Year Experience at a Tertiary Care Centre in South India
This study aimed at analysing clinicopathological, recurrence and survival pattern of surgically treated HNSTS. Case records of 28 patients of HNSTS who underwent surgery at the Regional Cancer Centre (RCC), Trivandrum (India) between 2002 and 2012 were analysed retrospectively for demographic profile, clinical features, treatment given, recurrence pattern and outcome. The median age of patients was 37  years (range, 3–79) with male:female ratio of 3:2. Majority of patients presented with painless lump in the neck as the most common subsite affected followed by scalp and face. One patient had nodal disease, while none h...

Undifferentiated sarcoma presenting as a slowly enlarging facial mass.
We present a case of undifferentiated/unclassified sarcoma (UUS) of the maxillary sinus, a tumor subtype historically known as malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) or undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma (UPS). A 50-year-old female patient presented with worsening facial pain and dysphagia. Physical examination demonstrated a large, ulcerated mass protruding from the oral cavity. Computed tomography demonstrated a large, enhancing mass centered in the right maxillary sinus with local invasion. The initial biopsy was read as "central giant cell granuloma." Conservative management yielded no improvement, and the tumor grew s...

Giant cells in soft tissue tumors! Is it a clue to diagnosis or cytologists mystery ? ? ? An unusual case report
We report here a rare case of a giant cell-rich dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans in a 23-year-old male who presented with ST lesion in left forearm since 6 months. The lesion was predicted in fine-needle aspiration cytology and confirmed later with histopathology. When evaluated along with clinical features, the cytological features are very useful to distinguish between these tumors with giant cell morphology. [Adjuvant contact radiotherapy for conjunctival malignancies: Preliminary results of a series of 14 patients treated with the Papillon 50 machine].
CONCLUSION: Adjuvant contact radiotherapy provides a good local control after resection of conjunctival malignancies (melanoma, malignant histiocytofibroma, carcinoma). Thanks to its precision, this technique is well tolerated with a low rate of complications. Furthermore, it is delivered on an ambulatory basis. Malignant fibrous histiocytoma in a patient presenting with urinary system symptoms
Summary Malignant fibrous histiocytoma is a rare tumor. It is most commonly seen in individuals between the fifth and seventh decades of life, in extremities, and less frequently in the retroperitoneum. Although its etiology is not clearly known, radiotherapy, chemical agents, previous history of surgery, trauma and fracture, and Hodgkin lymphoma have been blamed. Leiomyosarcoma, liposarcoma and rhabdomyosarcoma should be taken into account in differential diagnosis. It is seen on computed tomography as a mass lesion with irregular borders and density similar to that of the surrounding muscle tissue. Necrotic and hemorrhag...
