Double-Orifice Mitral Valve: An Educational Presentation
Abstract We are going to present a case of malignant fibrous histiocytoma in the right atrium, which is a very rare entity. The patient had a right atrial mass, which prolapsed through the tricuspid valve into the right ventricle, causing functional tricuspid valve stenosis. The tumor was completely resected and the patient had an uneventful postoperative period. Histopathological examination reported malignant fibrous histiocytoma. The patient presented to the emergency department five weeks after discharge with dyspnea and palpitation. Echocardiography and magnetic resonance imaging revealed recurrent right atrial tumor ...

Clinical Outcomes of Surgical Treatment for Primary Chest Wall Soft Tissue Sarcoma.
Conclusion: Long-term primary CW-STS surgery outcomes were found to be favorable. Incomplete microscopic resection and stage were risk factors for recurrence. PMID: 31236374 [PubMed] (Source: Korean Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery)

Malignant fibrous histiocytoma, now referred to as Undifferentiated Pleomorphic Sarcoma: A Case Report of an unexpected histology of a subcutaneous lesion
ConclusionUndifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma should be a differential in subcutaneous lesions in older adults with a previous history of malignancy, radiation therapy and a mass in the subcutaneous tissue of the back. (Source: International Journal of Surgery Case Reports)

Hypertensive Crisis during MW Ablation of Adrenal Neoplasms: A Retrospective Analysis of Predictive Factors
ConclusionHC can occur during MW ablation in patients with either primary or metastatic adrenal tumors. Pheochromocytoma, body mass index, tumor size, and pre-procedural systolic blood pressure appear to be significant risk factors for the occurrence of HC. Feasibility Study of Three-dimensional Reformatted PET/CT Imaging in Musculoskeletal Tumors
1295Introduction: Three-dimensional (3-D) displays for medical imaging is emerging field and very promising tools for diagnosis, therapy response and detection of tumor recurrence. Morphological criteria for therapy response (CR, PR, SD, PD) have been established with RECIST (Response evaluation criteria in solid tumors). With adoption of metabolic imaging with PET/CT, particularly with F-18-FDG in initial staging and follow up of tumors, there appears to be a need to modify these criteria not only on morphological imaging modalities like CT, but also on tumor metabolism parameters, like SUV (standardized uptake value) as ...

Atypical Fibroxanthoma.
Authors: Chapman LW, Yu SS, Arron ST Abstract Atypical fibroxanthoma (AFX) is a dermal spindle-cell sarcoma that is considered a superficial and clinically benign presentation of pleomorphic dermal sarcoma, malignant fibrous histiocytoma, and undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma. AFX appears clinically as a discrete red or pink nodule or papule, most commonly on the head and neck region of sun-damaged elderly patients. Histologic findings on routine hematoxylin and eosin staining reveal spindle-shaped, large, and pleomorphic tumor cells throughout the dermis. Immunohistochemistry is not specific for AFX, a...

Long-Term Survival after Wide Resection of Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma of the Chest Wall.
Authors: Shin JW, Chang YJ, Cho DG, Choi SY Abstract Primary malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) of the chest wall is extremely rare and is characterized by aggressive features, including a high incidence of local recurrence and distant metastasis. Surgical resection of the chest wall is the primary modality of management. However, surgical treatment is not generally recommended in patients with evidence of distant metastasis. Here, we present a case of chest wall MFH along with a schwannoma mimicking distant metastasis in the right upper arm. The patient was treated by radical en bloc resection and survi...
