Co-crystal of tramadol-celecoxib (CTC) for acute moderate-to-severe pain
CONCLUSIONS: Results from phase 3 trials suggest that the modified physicochemical properties of tramadol and celecoxib in CTC translate into an improved clinical benefit-risk profile, including fewer opioid-related adverse effects due to lower overall opioid dosing.PMID:38205948 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2023.2276118 (Source: Current Medical Research and Opinion)

Colorectal cancer screening uptake and adherence by modality at a large tertiary care center in the United States: a retrospective analysis
CONCLUSIONS: In an opportunistic CRC screening program, adherence increased but remained below the national 80% goal. While colonoscopy remained the most utilized modality, new colonoscopy uptake declined, compared with rising mt-sDNA and FIT utilization. Among minority populations, new uptake increased most with mt-sDNA and FIT.PMID:38197407 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2024.2303090 (Source: Current Medical Research and Opinion)

The two different profiles in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction and type 2 diabetes mellitus: ischemic and diabetic
CONCLUSIONS: Patients with T2DM and HFpEF, who had the poorest prognosis, were of two different profiles: either ischemic or DMC etiology. The first had a higher burden of cardiovascular disease and inflammation whereas the second had a higher prevalence of obesity and AF. The first had a slightly poorer prognosis than the second, though this finding was not significant.PMID:38193461 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2024.2303089 (Source: Current Medical Research and Opinion)

Sociodemographic disparities in GLP-1RA and SGLT2i use among US adults with type 2 diabetes: NHANES 2005-March 2020
CONCLUSIONS: The use of GLP-1RA/SGLT2i drugs increased over time but remained low in March 2020. Higher education and income, but not race/ethnicity, were associated with GLP-1RA/SGLT2i use.PMID:38193509 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2024.2303413 (Source: Current Medical Research and Opinion)

Clinical outcomes and medical resource utilization of toripalimab combination therapy versus bevacizumab plus chemotherapy in advanced non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer
CONCLUSION: Toripalimab combination therapy could significantly prolonged PFS for patients with advanced non-squamous NSCLC compared with BCP, but at the expense of more MRU, costs and AEs.PMID:38193524 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2024.2303122 (Source: Current Medical Research and Opinion)

Association between COVID-19 vaccines and development of chronic morbidities: a cross-sectional study in the Jordanian population
CONCLUSIONS: This study highlights an association between the occurrence of autoimmune diseases and COVID-19 vaccination, while findings related to diabetes, asthma, and hypertension did not display significant associations. The results emphasize the necessity for further research to ascertain potential causal relationship.PMID:38193825 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2024.2303417 (Source: Current Medical Research and Opinion)

Effect of preoperative moderate-dose statin and duration on acute kidney injury after cardiac surgery: a retrospective cohort study
CONCLUSION: Preoperative moderate-dose statin was significantly related to a decreased risk of postoperative AKI, especially in patients who received statins for a longer duration. Further large-scale multicenter randomized controlled trials are needed to ascertain the impact of statin dose, duration, and timing on postoperative AKI in cardiac surgery patients.PMID:38146934 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2023.2286317 (Source: Current Medical Research and Opinion)
