Anti-SSA Ro52 and anti-Ro60 autoantibodies: association with clinical phenotypes
CONCLUSIONS: Anti-Ro52+ antibody alone is frequently found in patients with non-rheumatic diseases. In addition, anti-Ro52+ antibody is also prevalent in patients with CTD and associated with clinical phenotypes that are different from anti-Ro60+ antibody.PMID:38530658 | DOI:10.55563/clinexprheumatol/puxml7 (Source: Clinical and Experimental Rheumatology)

Pulmonary Manifestations of Connective Tissue Diseases
Semin Respir Crit Care Med. 2024 Mar 26. doi: 10.1055/s-0044-1782607. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTSystemic sclerosis is a multisystem connective tissue disease that is associated with substantial morbidity and mortality. Visceral organ involvement is common in patients with systemic sclerosis and occurs independently of skin manifestations. Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is an important and prevalent complication of systemic sclerosis. The clinical classification of PH cohorts conditions with similar pathophysiological mechanisms into one of five groups. While patients with systemic sclerosis can manifest with a spectrum of...

Successful thoracoscopic operative approach for refractory pneumothorax in interstitial lung disease under local anaesthesia
We report the case of a 60-year-old man with ILD, utilizing home oxygen therapy, who experienced a successful recovery from a surgical intervention under local anaesthesia for pneumothorax. AbstractRefractory pneumothorax associated with interstitial lung disease (ILD) remains a challenging condition due to the patient's tolerability and lung compliance that restrict the feasibility of aggressive interventions. Additionally, many cases recur after improvement with treatment, and reports of successful management for this complicated condition are limited. Herein, we report the case of a 60-year-old man with ILD, utilizing h...

Impaired health-related quality of life in idiopathic inflammatory myopathies: a cross-sectional analysis from the COVAD-2 e-survey
CONCLUSION: Both physical and mental health are significantly impaired in IIM patients, particularly in those with comorbidities and increased fatigue, emphasizing the importance of patient-reported experiences and optimized multidisciplinary care to enhance well-being in people with IIMs.PMID:38524696 | PMC:PMC10960935 | DOI:10.1093/rap/rkae028 (Source: Adv Data)

Post-marketing surveillance of the safety and effectiveness of nivolumab for classic Hodgkin lymphoma in Japan
In conclusion, nivolumab showed a similar safety profile and comparable effectiveness to that reported in clinical trials for relapsed/refractory cHL (CheckMate 205, ONO-4538-15).PMID:38521840 | DOI:10.1007/s12185-024-03734-y (Source: International Journal of Hematology)

Secondary Pulmonary Alveolar Proteinosis Development during the Treatment for Anti-aminoacyl-tRNA Synthetase Antibody-positive Interstitial Lung Disease
Intern Med. 2024 Mar 25. doi: 10.2169/internalmedicine.3327-23. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTA 70-year-old woman with anti-aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase (ARS) antibody-positive interstitial lung disease (ARS-ILD) received daily medications and regular cyclophosphamide cycles for recurring exacerbations. Approximately four years after immunosuppression initiation, the patient was admitted for progressive dyspnea on exertion. Chest computed tomography (CT) findings were suggestive of acute exacerbation. Despite intensified immunosuppressive treatment, the radiographic findings worsened, and serum Krebs von den Lungen-6 (KL-6) l...
