Cancers, Vol. 16, Pages 1582: Hepatocellular Carcinoma: Current Drug Therapeutic Status, Advances and Challenges
Wanjin Hong Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common form of liver cancer, accounting for ~90% of liver neoplasms. It is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths and the seventh most common cancer worldwide. Although there have been rapid developments in the treatment of HCC over the past decade, the incidence and mortality rates of HCC remain a challenge. With the widespread use of the hepatitis B vaccine and antiviral therapy, the etiology of HCC is shifting more toward metabolic-associated steatohepatitis (MASH). Early-stage HCC can be treated with potentially curative strategies such as surgical...

Fonction de l'ARNnc exosomal HEIH dans le carcinome h épatocellulaire associé au virus de l'hépatite B
This study aimed to investigate the expression of exosomal lncRNA-HEIH in B-HCC patients and explore its clinical significance. We collected blood samples from 60 B-HCC patients, 60 non-hepatitis virus-associated HCC (N-HCC) patients, and 50 healthy volunteers. Exosomal lncRNA-HEIH levels were measured by real-time PCR and analyzed for their correlation with patient prognosis using Kaplan-Meier analysis. Multivariate COX regression analysis was conducted to identify factors affecting patient outcomes. The effects of lncRNA-HEIH on carcinogenesis were also investigated by constructing a Huh7 cell line stably expressing the ...

Synthesis and preclinical evaluation of a novel probe [ < sup > 18 < /sup > F]AlF-NOTA-IPB-GPC3P for PET imaging of GPC3 positive tumor
In this study, a novel peptide PET imaging agent ([18F]AlF-NOTA-IPB-GPC3P) was developed to target GPC3 expressed in tumors. The overall radiochemical yield of [18F]AlF-NOTA-IPB-GPC3P was 10-15 %, and its lipophilicity, expressed as the logD value at a pH of 7.4, was -1.18 ± 0.06 (n = 3). Compared to the previously reported tracer [18F]AlF-GP2633, [18F]AlF-NOTA-IPB-GPC3P exhibited higher cellular uptake (15.13 vs 5.96) and internalized rate (80.63 % vs 35.93 %) in Huh7 cells at 120 min. Micro-PET/CT and biodistribution studies further demonstrated that [18F]AlF-NOTA-IPB-GPC3P exhibited significantly increased tumor uptake...

RPL9 acts as an oncogene by shuttling miRNAs through exosomes in human hepatocellular carcinoma cells
Int J Oncol. 2024 Jun;64(6):58. doi: 10.3892/ijo.2024.5646. Epub 2024 Apr 19.ABSTRACTThe exosomal pathway is an essential mechanism that regulates the abnormal content of microRNAs (miRNAs) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The directional transport of miRNAs requires the assistance of RNA‑binding proteins (RBPs). The present study found that RBPs participate in the regulation of miRNA content through the exosomal pathway in HCC cells. First, differential protein expression profiles in the serum exosomes of patients with HCC and benign liver disease were detected using mass spectrometry. The results revealed that riboso...

It was found that hepatoma-derived growth factor (HDGFR2) is a histone methylated reader protein, which can recognize histone methylation modification and play an important "switch" role in gene transcriptional regulation. It is unclear whether HDGFR2 is involved in bone formation studies. Our study aims to investigate the effect of HDGFR2 on osteogenic differentiation and provide evidence ...

Molecules, Vol. 29, Pages 1859: A Systematic Review of Statins for the Treatment of Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis: Safety, Efficacy, and Mechanism of Action
Bing Liu Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the liver component of a cluster of conditions, while its subtype, nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), emerges as a potentially progressive liver disorder that harbors the risk of evolving into cirrhosis and culminating in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). NASH and cardiovascular disease (CVD) have common risk factors, but compared to liver-related causes, the most common cause of death in NASH patients is CVD. Within the pharmacological armamentarium, statins, celebrated for their lipid-modulating prowess, have now garnered attention for their expansive therapeutic ...
