Dismissed from Program Due to Timing
Hey everyone. I was recently dismissed in September from my Osteopathic Medical School due to having attempted and failed COMLEX Level 1 twice. During COVID, due to a death in the family I took a leave of absence for a year and pushed my exam a year. There is a 3-attempt max at taking the exam, however I naively pushed the exam too far and now due to the 6-year time limit to finish the program, I was unable to take the exam again and was dismissed based on these grounds. I have tried to... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Differentials for students
Hi all, We are becoming a new clinical site for vet students, and to make sure I am up to speed, when a student is presenting their problem list and then differentials, how do you like them in order? Infectious/inflammatory such as viral, bacterial, fungal, protozoal, parasitic or gastritis, gastroenterititis". It has been a long time since being a student! Any input is... Thought about pension/retirement benefits?
I'm graduating next year and is deciding between academic environment vs. large practice such as Kaiser. For KPNC the pay is north 450K, eligible for pension after 10-15 years services. For me this seems like a really good deal given the stable income stream on retirement. What do you think about this pension? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

PE in GI - positive and negative experiences
A recent post on takeover of a GI group by PE led me to think that there are many variables in the PE model in GI. What I have heard so far is negative but there may be some positive things out of PE in GI field. I open this post to see both positive and negative experiences or knowledge from friends reg expanding PE influence in GI world. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

WAMC Gastroenterology
Hey all, I was hoping to get some opinions on how many GI programs to apply to. Some context: USMD at a mid-tier academic IM program. My significant other is currently in the mid-west so I would ideally like to be at any program in that region. Research: 1 first author manuscript, 6 abstracts, 4 posters Any insight would be appreciated (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Cost of CO2 vs. O2 at ASC
Just curious the cost difference between CO2 and O2? It seems private practice groups have been slow to transition to CO2 at their ASC despite the benefits. (Source: Student Doctor Network)
