Should i get into the USMLE etc process as an IMG? I'm a 32 year old gastroenterologist and an attending in my country.
Hello everyone, I've been reading alot about the process that IMGs have to go through in order to be licensed to practice in the US. I'm a 32 year old attending in gastro in my home country. For personal reasons, i'm considering moving to the US. I'm asking your honest opinion about: The feasibility? My chances to become a practicing gastroenterologist in the US? How long would each part of the process take? So in general, do you think it's a reasonable and good idea. Thanks. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Official 2020-2021 GI Fellowship Application Cycle
The time has come upon us for yet another fellowship cycle - this one goes down in history though. Let's see how COVID-19 will affect this cycle. Let's start of with concerns, questions, and discussions about how your home institution is handling COVID's impact on your application (i.e. away rotations, meeting with faculty, clinic time for more attending face time etc). Advice for securing a GI fellowship
Hello all, I recently matched in internal medicine a mid-tier University program. I found this forum very useful for my residency preparation and hope to receive some good advice for my fellowship aspirations. With only 2 years in hand for the next match cycle for me, I think its time to roll up my sleeves. I am an IMG, with some background in ID (home country residency and PhD in infectious diseases). However, my primary interest is gastroenterology since I have always loved it since my... Advice for securing a GI fellowship (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Evaluation and Honing Skills During GI Fellowships
Can any fellows or GI attendings comment on any objective measures that are used to evaluate GI fellows competence in different procedures and the best way to look about getting constructive feedback to help work on areas of weakness. I know its likely program specific but I still wander if there are validated tools to assess or at the very least, track, procedural competency. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship Application 2020
Thought this might be a good resource for the 1-2 other people who are applying and SDN members this year. I've heard of some people already getting interviews even though the process was pushed back a month. Any thoughts on the virtual interviews? Tips from past applicants? Advice for journals to submit manuscripts
I have a few IBD manuscripts ready for submission and better to be accepted/published before fellowship application deadline. Have a few candidates and trying to evaluate based on acceptance chance and value added to my application. Digestive Diseases and Science Digestive and liver disease JGH open (seems to be easiest, but is it really accredited as a journal publication?) Also is it better to submit all papers to one place or different places? Really appreciate your advice! (Source: Student Doctor Network)
