Corneal Remodeling After Myopic SMILE Versus FS-LASIK: A Spatial Analysis of Short- and Mid-Term Corneal Thickness, Volume, and Shape Changes
Conclusions: CTSP and CVD between the 2-month and 3-year examination showed a similar increase after SMILE and FS-LASIK. During the postoperative course, the anterior and posterior corneal asphericity remained more stable after SMILE compared with FS-LASIK. (Source: Cornea)

Changes in asphericity of anterior and posterior corneal surfaces for mild –moderate and high myopia after topography-guided FS-LASIK
ConclusionThe changes of corneal asphericity in patients with high myopia were greater than mild –moderate myopia, with more corneal HOAs and Z40 introduced when corneal topography-guided FS-LASIK was conducted. (Source: International Ophthalmology)

Effect of a brain-penetrant selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD) on binge drinking in female mice
CONCLUSIONS: These results indicate that SERD treatment can decrease binge-like ethanol drinking in female mice and in theory could be a novel strategy to reduce binge drinking in women, with the caveat that effectiveness may depend on menstrual cycle phase. In addition, Esr1 transcript is increased by binge ethanol exposure in both sexes but in a brain region-specific manner.PMID:35581531 | DOI:10.1111/acer.14874 (Source: Alcoholism, Clinical and Experimental Research)

Oral vitamin D3 supplementation for femtosecond LASIK-associated dry eye vitamin D for LASIK dry eye syndrome
AbstractPurposeTo assess the effect of oral vitamin D3 supplementation in dry eye after femtosecond laser-assistedin situ keratomileusis (FS-LASIK).SettingLiuzhou Worker ’s Hospital.DesignThis prospective study included 90 patients selected between January and December in 2019, who underwent FS-LASIK operation in our hospital and had obvious symptoms indicating dry eyes 1  month after operation. The subjects were randomly divided into two groups: The experimental group (n = 45) received vitamin D3 2000 IU/D continuously for 12 weeks; the control group (n = 45) did not take vitamin D3 orally. Ocular surface dis...

Combined accelerated collagen crosslinking and sub-Bowman's keratomileusis in high myopic eyes: a comparison between total ultraviolet energy dose
CONCLUSIONS: A comparable volume of crosslinked corneal tissue can be achieved by using a shorter UVA irradiation duration. Additional duration of UVA irradiation could lead to delay in visual rehabilitation after simultaneous sub-Bowman's keratomileusis and CXL.PMID:35476818 | DOI:10.1080/08820538.2022.2070026 (Source: Seminars in Ophthalmology)
