At the moment- I'm a pretty high volume cataract, glaucoma, refractive. I do about 200 cataract surgeries a month and a fair amount of migs/lasik. I'm currently paid on an EWYK model. I have an investment in an ASC that is not owned by my group. Value of cornea fellowship for cataract surgeons?
Current PGY-3 here, contemplating fellowship. I love the power of refractive surgery to uplift a patient's quality of life and happiness. Why dont more Ophthos move to canada?
Per this source (that peruses the government's reimbursement to every physician in the country) Ophtho makes an average of 1.2 million/year in Alberta, Canada accepts ACGME training, and their taxes are only 15% for incorporated physicians!
It's not even counting the 20 $4k lasik cases that most of them do on the side 1-2 days a month.

Army HPSP and corrective eye surgery
Hello everyone,
I am currently a dental student under the army HPSP. I was debating on getting corrective eye surgery (LASIK) and realized there may be some rules to this. I looked around older threads and the only relevant one was over 10 years ago. Anyone know if I can do this procedure? am I not allowed? do I need permission first?

I recently got LASIK and finally am wearing non-prescription glasses. I've bought cheap shooting glasses (Howard Leight/Honeywell), but the optical quality is really awful.

OK, got a wake up call this morning. Went in for routine eye exam and the optometrist has about 50 certificates on the wall proclaiming that he is a "qualified laser surgeon" and other stuff.
I knew ODs were allowed to do some extra stuff, but I didnt know PRK, LASIK and all the other subtypes of LASIK were included in that.
