Comparative analysis of IOL power calculations in postoperative refractive surgery patients: a theoretical surgical model for FS-LASIK and SMILE procedures
As the two most prevalent refractive surgeries in China, there is a substantial number of patients who have undergone Femtosecond Laser-assisted In Situ Keratomileusis (FS-LASIK) and Small Incision Lenticule E... (Source: BMC Ophthalmology)

Digital pupillometry and centroid shift changes in dominant  and nondominant eyes
CONCLUSIONS: This study found that ocular dominance occurred predominantly in the right eye. The pupil size change was larger in the dominant eye. The angle kappa of the dominant eye is smaller than that of the nondominant eye and the pupil center of the dominant eye is slightly shifted to the temporal side under mesopic conditions. The correction of myopia in the dominant and nondominant eyes has good safety, efficacy, and predictability in the short term after surgery, and has good subjective visual quality performance after correction. We suggest adjusting the angle kappa percentage in the dominant eye to be lower than ...

Atomic force microscopy for the evaluation of corneal surface roughness after femtosecond laser flap creation and excimer ablation
ConclusionsOur results show that the roughness of the surface treated with excimer is clearly lower than in the group with no excimer ablation; thus, the application of laser excimer after a flap created by femtosecond laser seems to soften the nano-irregularities created by this technique. Assessment of the specificity of corvis biomechanical index-laser vision correction (CBI-LVC) in stable corneas after phototherapeutic keratectomy
ConclusionCBI-LVC provided similar specificity in stable PTK patients compared to those who underwent PRK. These results suggest that the CBI-LVC could be a useful tool to aid corneal surgeons in managing PTK patients. (Source: International Ophthalmology)

Ocular residual astigmatism (ORA) does not seem to correlate with baseline refractive error among refractive surgery candidates
ConclusionsIn the studied population, ORA is not correlated with baseline refractive error. Every patient presenting for possible corneal-based laser refractive surgery should be evaluated for a possible high level of ORA, irrespective of their baseline ametropia level. Development of interface haze after femtosecond laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis with accelerated corneal crosslinking: a case series
ConclusionsThe development of clinically significant interface haze is a relatively rare complication after FS-LASIK Xtra but tends to have a higher incidence and intensity compared to conventional stromal surgery such as FS-LASIK. Timely treatment and close follow-up are essential to patients undertaking FS-LASIK Xtra. (Source: International Ophthalmology)
