Long-Term Follow-Up of a 150 ° Arc-Length Intrastromal Corneal Ring Segment Implantation in Post-LASIK Ectasia
CONCLUSION: These results suggest that implanting a single 150° arc-length Ferrara-type ICRS is a safe, effective and stable procedure for visual restoration in post-LASIK ectasia. In very few cases, visual and/or refractive instability was experienced throughout the follow-up.PMID:36524598 | DOI:10.1080/02713683.2022.2159983 (Source: Current Eye Research)

Update on the Light-Adjustable Lens (LAL)
Abstract  Purpose of ReviewTo review the latest articles or papers on the results of light-adjustable lens implantation after lens surgery. We know this IOL was approved by the FDA in 2017. Mexico and Europe have experience with the LAL since 2008.Recent FindingsDespite more than 5  years of LAL approval in the market, there is only one paper that shows 7 years of folloAbstract_Paraw-up results after LAL implantation. There are also reports with visual results in special cases after cataract surgery in patients with prior LASIK and prior radial keratotomy.SummaryRetinal safety, refractive accuracy, and management of ref...

Relevance of admission hyperglycaemia and diabetes mellitus to efficacy and safety of mechanical thrombectomy in stroke patients
CONCLUSIONS: Diabetes mellitus has a neutral effect on the angiographic and clinical outcomes of mechanical thrombectomy in stroke patients. It does not increase the risk of intracranial haemorrhage after instrumental therapy. It is admission hyperglycaemia, rather than diabetes mellitus, that is a predictor of poor functional status in patients treated with thrombectomy. According to our results, the patient's neurological status, age, and the outcome of thrombectomy are relevant to the functional status in the acute ischaemic stroke period.PMID:36394219 | DOI:10.5603/PJNNS.a2022.0063 (Source: Neurologia i Neurochirurgia Polska)

Presbyopic Corneal Inlay Extrusion Consequent to Sterile Keratolysis: Surgical Revision and Long-Term Management
Conclusions: Some refractive synthetic corneal inlays have been recalled because they may result in significant corneal haze. We present herein a case of severe keratolysis that necessitated surgical explantation and further document long-term care for eventual visual rehabilitation. (Source: Cornea)
