Cancers, Vol. 15, Pages 3142: Deep Learning Algorithm for Differentiating Patients with a Healthy Liver from Patients with Liver Lesions Based on MR Images
Obuchowicz The problems in diagnosing the state of a vital organ such as the liver are complex and remain unresolved. These problems are underscored by frequently published studies on this issue. At the same time, demand for imaging diagnostics, preferably using a method that can detect the disease at the earliest possible stage, is constantly increasing. In this paper, we present liver diseases in the context of diagnosis, diagnostic problems, and possible elimination. We discuss the dataset and methods and present the stages of the pipeline we developed, leading to multiclass segmentation of the liver in multiparamet...

CO221 Efficacy and Safety of Personalized Topography-Guided-Lasik Laser Refractive Correction: A Targeted Literature Review
Topography-guided Laser Assisted In-situ Keratomileusis (TG-LASIK) provides patients with corrected visual acuity and quality within a short period after surgery. A targeted literature review assessed the efficacy and safety of personalized TG-LASIK and its use with clinical decision support software. (Source: Value in Health)

EE75 The Economic Value and Learning Curves Associated with Laser Vision Correction
Refractive surgeries are used to correct refractive errors by reshaping the cornea. Surgical technologies include laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) and small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE). A targeted literature review was conducted to examine the costs, time, and/or healthcare resource utilization (HCRU) and learning curves associated with the LASIK and SMILE technologies. Herpes endotheliitis following laser-assisted < em > in situ < /em > keratomileusis and photorefractive keratectomy
We present two patients with visually insignificant stromal scarring who denied a previous history of herpetic disease and developed herpes endotheliitis following LASIK and PRK. We demonstrate the importance of an appropriately thorough preoperative evaluation and further workup of any corneal abnormalities, even if such findings initially appear inconsequential.PMID:37252172 | PMC:PMC10220447 | DOI:10.4103/tjo.TJO-D-22-00156 (Source: Herpes)

EQIP Quality Assessment of Refractive Surgery Resources on YouTube
CONCLUSION: EQIP was useful in identifying specific strengths and deficits in online refractive surgery patient education resources that were not evident from other screening tools. The quality of information on YouTube videos on refractive surgeries is average. Physician-authored videos could be improved by clarifying risks and quality of life issues. Quality evaluation of medical information is important for comprehensive online surgical education.PMID:37133414 | DOI:10.1080/08820538.2023.2209168 (Source: Seminars in Ophthalmology)

Textural Features of MR Images Correlate with an Increased Risk of Clinically Significant Cancer in Patients with High PSA Levels
CONCLUSIONS: There is an important correlation between the textural parameters of MRI prostate images made using the PIRADS MR protocol with PSA levels > 4 mg/mL. The correlations found express dependence between image features with high cancer markers and hence the cancer risk.PMID:37109173 | DOI:10.3390/jcm12082836 (Source: Clinical Prostate Cancer)
