America's Frontline Doctors
So about that viral press conference video that's been making the rounds...apparently the leader of this America's Frontline Doctors group is Simone Gold, an EM physician. For those of you who knew her from med school at Rosalind Franklin or EM residency at Stony Brook...did these views come as a surprise? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Summary of the ACRO 2021 Match Webinar for Medical Students
I was able to catch most of this since some folks in the department had it playing in a conference room. Much of the webinar was geared towards advice for medical students in navigating this year’s match. In regards to the practical points, I thought it was very sound and consistent with other meetings I’ve been in exploring the 2020-2021 away rotations/interview process/match issues. I figured I could paraphrase some “hot button” points that were touched upon that I believe warrant further... What does the morbidity and mortality conference look like at your residency program?
My residency program currently does not have a morbidity and mortality conference. I was wondering how it's structured at various programs and if you all find it helpful. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Is this what therapy has become for many?
I had an interesting moment the other day while working with an acute patient at my hospital. This particular patient has a longitudinal history of debilitating schizophrenia even whilst medicated, and most, if not all of his family has left him high and dry. Consequently, all he has essentially is my hospital and his outpatient team and therapist. We had a tele-psych video conference with his outpatient therapist, who is a LISW, and she wanted to do a “therapy” session with him. I got to... Is this what therapy has become for many? 3 Minute TMS
FDA just approved a protocol for the 3 minute treatments that can yield remission/response in 1 week for depression with TMS. This is a game changer. Even if it doesn't approximate the remission rates of ECT or is on par with pharmacotherapy, its speed will propel its use. I believe this will mark a new paradigm in Psychiatry. I remember seeing the presentation on this a few years back at a conference and knew that it would be a game changer then. I believe this is the start of a TMS... 3 Minute TMS (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Abstracts on CV
I've looked through all of the old threads on this topic on sdn and reddit and I'm still confused. If I submit an abstract to a conference and it's accepted and I go and present at that conference, I list this as a poster and or oral presentation. Then what exactly do I list under the "abstract" section. Is this only for abstracts that select conferences actually publish into associated journals or what? Doesn't that mean I'd have the same thing listed twice on my cv (once as a published... Abstracts on CV (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Non-trad. with 3.4 cGPA and 3.04 sGPA
Hi all, I made a similar post the other day but my GPA calculations were incorrect. My cGPA is 3.4 and sGPA is 3.04. I was just wondering where you would recommend I apply based on my stats - or do I even have a chance period? Stats: * BSc, Majored in Bio. & Psych. * 1000+ research hours. 2 publications (2nd author) (1 in psych. 1 in bio.), 1 honor's thesis (psych.), 2 1st place research awards, 4 posters (1 at regional conference). * Was asked to be a judge at a research... SIS 2020 Conference
Does anyone know if this is still going to happen in the setting of COVID19? I submitted an abstract for consideration, but understandably have not heard back yet. I need to submit vacation and conference requests for PGY3 soon. Thanks for any insight (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Cancelled Conferences (COVID-19) and CV?
Hello, I was originally planning to present a poster at a conference that has been cancelled due to concerns with coronavirus. Was curious what people's suggestions were regarding the CV. Would it be inappropriate to still include the abstract on my CV for that conference even though it has been cancelled? (Source: Student Doctor Network)
