Research posters and pubs from before college
Hey friends, So. Long story short, I worked in an undergrad lab when I was a senior in high school, and we presented our poster for it at a national conference. This was in May of 2017. Technically it was a couple months before I was in college, but can I still count it for my app purposes? I ask because I know people usually frown on pre-college activities being included on the app. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Networking and Building Relationships During Pharmacy School / 2021 ONLINE SNPhA Joint Regional Meeting!
Hey SDN! I'm just checking in to see how many fellow pharmacy students and/or pharmacists are tuning in to the SNPhA Regional Meeting tomorrow. Will there be opportunities to network considering it's online? I have always wanted to go to a real-life conference throughout my pharmacy school years in order to meet new people, make connections, broaden my network, but for some reason I feel like that will be difficult to do in an online conference. For those of you who have attended online... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

How do you usually satisfy your CME requirement?
I'm a new attending, looking into different ways to obtain CME. For the seasoned attendings, how do you usually get your CME requirement? Self study? Conferences? combination? I have 5 days off for CME related events so ideally id like to use those. Many events are virtual now which is fine, but not sure how to find out all the options? Ive gotten some ads through the mail so i know about those, beyond that, no clue. I have interest in a few topics but not sure where to look to find... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

How exactly abstract should be listed on CV
I looked through past threads, but I feel still confused. Here is what my situation is: 1. I have an abstract submitted to an annual conference of a society. It got accepted, and the abstract was published officially in one of the issues in the society's official journal. I later made a poster presentation at the annual conference. In this case, should I list the published abstract under publication and poster presentation under presentation on CV? 2. Very similar to the first one, but... Conference double dipping?
So, I hear there are different conferences happening for the same organization in different states, and thus different chapters. They are both accepting submissions from medical students. Let’s say the chapters are for State A and State B. My medical school is in State A. State A’s conference says they will accept any posters from students whose schools are in state A. I am not personally a member of the State A chapter, but I am qualified to present at State A’s conference because of where... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Late Switch & Opinions
Hi all, just looking for some opinions on going forward with a possible recent change of heart ive had in career choice. Current MS3 at an MD school in southeast, just finished up my surgery rotation. Up to this point, been pretty committed to DR with an interest in pursuing IR via ESIR or traditional fellowship route. 239 step 1, 4 abstracts presented at national conferences, no step 2 yet, mediocre clerkship grades (honored surgery though). Like I said, been pretty confident on the... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Updates Pre-II
Hello everyone, I was wondering if it would hurt me to send update letters to a few schools if I did not receive interviews for them? In particular, I wanted to mention my grades and that I will be presenting a first author abstract at an online conference next month. Thank you for your responses. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Are you doing the virtual conferences?
I have been very unmotivated to participate in virtual conferences. A major reason why I like conferences is to travel and run into colleagues. The idea of recording a talk is also very unrewarding. Since it seems that the next round of my typical conferences are going virtual, I have to start thinking about my CV and work reviews. So, have you been doing the virtual conferences? If yes, how have they been? If no, will your employer care? Any information that may change my point of view... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
