Homogenous subpopulation of human mesenchymal stem cells and their extracellular vesicles restore function of endometrium in an experimental rat model of Asherman syndrome
CONCLUSION: Transplantation of MSCs and EVs contributed to endometrial repair and restoration of reproductive function, likely by inhibition of excessive fibrosis and inflammation, enhancement of endometrial cell proliferation, and regulation of molecular markers related to endometrial receptivity. Compared to classical hMSCs, cMSCs were more efficient than hMSCs in restoration of reproductive function. Moreover, EV20K is more cost-effective and feasible for prevention of AS in comparison with conventional EVs (EV110K).PMID:37013655 | DOI:10.1186/s13287-023-03279-7 (Source: Cell Research)

A meta-analysis of obstetric and neonatal outcomes in patients after treatment of hysteroscopic adhesiolysis
DiscussionDue to the paucity of good quality comparative data, the question of whether there is an increased prevalence of obstetric and neonatal complications in women after hysteroscopic adhesiolysis compared with the general population remains unanswered. The findings from this review will provide a basis for more well-designed studies in the future.Systematic review registrationhttps://www.crd.york.ac.uk/PROSPERO/display_record.php?RecordID=364021, identifier [CRD42022364021]. A comparison of special intrauterine balloons and intrauterine contraceptive devices in the treatment of intrauterine adhesions
ConclusionPatients in the special IUB group had better outcomes than those in the IUD group, which has a certain guiding significance for clinical work. (Source: Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics)

Subserosal pregnancy: a new type of ectopic pregnancy?
Subserosal pregnancy (SP) is defined as rare variant of intramural pregnancy, where “a portion of the gestational sac was surrounded only by the serosa of the uterus”[1,2,3]. The case of a 39 year old Caucasian woman is reported. She had a previous incomplete spontaneous abortion followed by uterine curettage, with subsequent Asherman's syndrome treated by laparotomic hysteroto my with a transverse cut to the fundus of the uterus and complete opening of the uterine body. A second pregnancy occurred 4 years later. (Source: The Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology)

Transdermal estrogen gel vs oral estrogen after hysteroscopy for intrauterine adhesion separation: A prospective randomized study
ConclusionsTransdermal administration of estrogen is equally efficacious as oral estrogen in postoperative treatment of IUA patients with a relatively safe profile. It is very likely to broaden its indication to the field of IUA.Trial Registrationhttp://www.chictr.org.cn/showproj.aspx?proj=37197, identifier ChiCTR1900022110. (Source: Frontiers in Endocrinology)

Cost savings analysis of routine hysteroscopy for early detection and treatment of intrauterine adhesions
There are many uterine procedures known to cause intrauterine adhesions (IUA). The standard of care for detection of IUA is initiation of workup after a woman reports symptoms, such as menstrual irregularity, pelvic pain, or infertility. Routine hysteroscopy is not currently performed after an event that may cause IUA. Our objective was to determine if the use of routine diagnostic hysteroscopy following procedures that are high risk for developing IUA could be a cost saving alternative to the current standard of care from a medical system perspective. Evaluation of different rat models with intrauterine adhesions and improved technique for its establishment
In conclusion, our study found that mechanical injury caused by the curette can be completely repaired after two estrus cycles. However, dual injury (mechanical injury with infection) and 95% ethanol injection can be used to establish the IUA rat model, and the dual damage is closer to the clinic-pathological characteristics of IUA.PMID:36642541 | DOI:10.1538/expanim.22-0153 (Source: Experimental Animals)
