MOOC for intro to psych credit
Hey everyone, I've signed up for the free intro to psych course on Coursera to fill a credit requirement for some SMP apps. I never took it in undergrad. I was planning on taking it this summer at the local college anyway but I thought this way I might save a few bucks. The course is taught by a prof who teaches at Yale but it's still associated with Coursera. Does anyone know if this would be accepted by any universities? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Yale (~$100k) v. Kaiser ($0)
Hey all, I narrowed down my decision to these two schools any input y'all have would be great. For background, I am from California originally and would like to end up back there. I am very much drawn to the financial freedom of Kaiser but want to be sure I am making the right choice. I am open to career paths but likely not going to stick with academic medicine for what it's worth. Kaiser Pros: Cost= $0 (free tuition + living fees waiver) -Weather -Family close by -More... Duke vs Yale vs Cornell
Hi everyone! Incredibly fortunate to be deciding between 3 schools I'm super excited about. For context, the cost of attending all three schools will be roughly the same. And I’m likely going to match into something not as competitive, but would definitely like to keep my options open in case I have a change of heart. I’ve also put a ** next to the pros and cons that are particularly important to me as I make my decision. Thanks in advance and hope everyone’s staying healthy! Duke:... Pitt VS Yale
Hello everyone! I am so fortunate to have had a successful application cycle and was hoping to get some of yall's help in making my final choice between Pitt and Yale. A little bit about me: -I have been involved in basic science research for the past six years but would like to move to more translational or clinical research in medical school. -I want to specialize in a surgical-related speciality. Pitt Pros: - City-vibes, which is what I prefer - By far my favorite interview day. I... Pitt VS Yale (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Hopkins, Harvard, UCB, BU+$, and Yale+$
I am accepted to Hopkins, Harvard, UCB, BU+$, and Yale+$ (all MPH accelerated program) Yes, I acknowledge that this situation must be happy for me, comparing the time I studied GRE. But the deadline for the decision is coming, and I am stressed. I know that nobody except me can decide. -Hopkins vs Harvard: I guess this is no answer match forever. No funding. Yeah, truly high tuition. -UCB, BU, Yale: all 1 year, and substantial tuition thanks to scholarship (about $35000 for my degree... Kaiser (full CoA scholarship) vs Vanderbilt (75% tuition scholarship)
Hello everyone- I've been fortunate to have had a very successful application cycle. As financial aid information has come in, I've narrowed my choices down to Kaiser and Vanderbilt (my other top choices, Yale and Pitt, will certainly be full price). I'm struggling with the decision and hoping to get some feedback. Kaiser Pros: No debt! Their curriculum seems innovative and research-based Weather Would be cool to be a part of the... Med school realistic with 3.62 gpa?
Hi everyone, so I just graduated from undergrad with a 3.62 cGPA (~3.4 sGPA) in Biomedical Engineering, with a Neuroscience minor. I am planning on studying for the MCAT this summer, and taking it in August. I will also be attending either Yale or UNC Chapel Hill for my Master's in Public Health degree, and will hopefully begin applying to med schools next year. Do you all think i have a decent chance of getting into med school? My GPA is lower than average, but do you think that med... Med school realistic with 3.62 gpa? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Yale (full tuition FA) vs. UCLA (Geffen Scholarship)
Hey guys! I'm super torn between these two programs that I've been fortunate enough to get accepted into. I do want to match back on the east coast as its close to my SO and I have more friends/family in the area. I am also interested in entering a surgical subspecialty. Maybe ortho or neurosurg. It's mainly come down to this: Yale (full tuition aid $$) + Yale System (seems chill and I do feel like I would thrive in this environment) + Match list seems to do really well with strong... Yale vs. Penn
Been super fortunate to be accepted to some amazing schools this cycle but completely conflicted on where I should attend. Yale +++ Amazing medical and lay prestige +++ Super chill curriculum which is also flexible. +++ No internal ranking or cap on honors for rotations ++ cost of living is cheap ++ likely to have access to more resources in surgical specialities since not too many people go into them ++ likely access to higher caliber of people not in medicine (ie law school... Mayo (MN) v Yale v Feinberg (NW)
Hello hello, I am a person who is looking to end up practicing in the Midwest after completing all of the years of schooling required to be an MD, and I am so thankful to have these options! I was wondering that now that STEP 1 is pass/fail, what would be the best choice under this system? I am not set on any specialties, but I have my eye on some of the more traditionally competitive specialties. I am also hoping to have a relatively stress-free (whatever that means) and collaborative... Mayo (MN) v Yale v Feinberg (NW) (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Yale aged physician policy
Our medical staff just implemented a similar policy. A couple of our surgeons were complaining about it. My group has a mandatory retirement age. EEOC Sues Yale New Haven Hospital for Age and Disability Discrimination (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Pass/Fail for Clerkship
As far as I know, the only schools that are doing pass/fail in third-year clerkship are Vandy, UCSF and Harvard and through the grapevine, Yale is going that way too in the near future. What are the pros/cons? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Greenwich Ct internal medicine
So I have been lucky enough to receive a few IM invites over the past few days and I just had a few questions about this one if anyone has any input. So this is what appears to a community hospital that is "affiliated" with Yale. Is this affiliation like say MGH is affiliated with Harvard or is it a more loose affiliation? I guess what I'm saying is if you go here are you going to Yale for residency or a hospital associated with Yale? Also anyone have any input on the program in... Public Psychiatry Fellowships you can fast track into
Wondering if anyone knows which public psychiatry fellowships it's possible to fast track into? I know Yale offers it but apparently it's already been filled this year. I'm interested in public psychiatry and would like to do a fellowship (but not so much that I want to add an extra year of training). Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

WARS Effectiveness Survey. Please read the text before voting.
So many of us are relying on WARS nowadays to construct our list of schools. I am curious how effective it is. But I want to limit the scope to only the top because variables become hard to control as we go down the list. Since 2017, our perception of what constitutes the top tier has changed. For this poll, I define top tier as the following 10 schools: Harvard, Stanford, Hopkins, UCSF, Penn, WashU, Yale, Columbia, NYU, and Mayo. (I don't mean to impose any specific idea or concept of...
