A psychiatrist heath administrator?
I'm an IMG currently taking my steps. I love Psychiatry and I'm sure it's where i want to be. But i also have interest in Health Policies and being involved in it, especially in relation to mental health which i feel keeps getting the shorter end of the stick for the physician and the patient and better structures can be put in place for optimal mental health care delivery. This has made me strongly consider an MPH in Health Policy (Yale offers this) Now here's my question: Can one combine... A psychiatrist heath administrator? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Chances of getting in to competitive EDP program?
I am a junior at Yale thinking about applying EDP to Yale Med. If I get all A's in my final year, my cGPA will be ~3.7, and my BCPM sGPA will be ~3.6. I am a double major in engineering and biology, which is why my GPA is not that high. The majority of my premed pre-req grades are B+ with several A- and a handful of As (plus one B-). I haven't taken the MCAT yet, but I am starting to study now and planning to take it in January, aiming for a 515 or above. I am planning to take a gap year to... Yale Undergrad 3.4 GPA sGPA 3.2 MCAT 515
So I plan to apply to medical school next year for the 2019 matriculation cycle and I was wondering what my chances are considering my low GPA and some schools I should be applying to. So, more about me. I'm a Michigan resident, attended Yale on full financial aid and worked an on campus job as part of my finaid package 4/4 years of undergrad. I definitely had some struggles within my major and had to withdraw from one class (MCDB basically Biology major, 2nd lowest avg GPA major at the... Yale Divinity School
So, I was looking through MSAR and I saw that Yale offers a joint degree from its medical school and its divinity school. Does anyone know anything about this? Anyone been through it? Have the website explaining it? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Niche Stanford undergrad application question
What's up team, Anyone here do SLE freshman year at Stanford and know how to categorize the coursework? The Great Books program at Yale, and other similar programs, were modeled off of Stanford's Structured Liberal Education. It's a year-long, 9-10 unit / quarter residentially-based humanities sequence that covers literature, religion, history, philosophy, etc, and so I'm not sure how to categorize this coursework on the AMCAS application. Anyone have a definitive answer for this? Cheers! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Does Yale and Duke still do SHPEP (new SMDEP)?
It's weird because I've been reading through the forums and the Yale SMDEP website (it seems current) and I'm confused whether or not they still do it. If they don't, is there a similar new program at these institutions? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Yale v. UCSD
Hey all, (for the record I will have to pay medical school entirely myself through loans): Yale Pros Yale System / No Shelf Exams etc.** - Love this system and appeals to me as I am an adult learner. (Biggest pro of both schools by far) Seemingly chill nature of the school/most students Strength of program - Will learn a lot and name can take me far, I believe. Especially w/their tremendous match list Very supportive in terms of $$ for research, research years... Yale v. UCSD (Source: Student Doctor Network)

I'm slow
Hey guys, I'll try to make this short and sweet. As you can see from my history, I typically try to distance myself from SD, just b/c it doesn't claim itself a holy book, and not one answer fits everyone's very complex life. So I was just done with my freshman year in college. It was indeed surreal, and would've never thought that I could go through it a year ago back in high school. I knew that I had a few mental illnesses impacting my learning, and thought I would fail college. The first... I'm slow (Source: Student Doctor Network)

CSPM vs Western, current Pod students please help
Hi all, I got accepted to both this week and here is the list of my pros and cons. CSPM pros: -traditional (MD-like) curriculum -small class setting -very friendly faculty/students, I got lots of help and advice from them -early clinical rotations (love it) -lots of different populations of patients from the Bay area -potential for a 10/15K scholarship -strong research -great residency placements, such as Harvard, Yale, John Hopkins -ability to take some days/weeks off to study for the... My list of waitlists
I'd like to start off by thanking everyone for their support in this cycle as it is my third time being on waitlists. I don't foresee myself posting much more before the waitlist movement begins in May and I thought I'd post my school list for any last pieces of input or those that are curious about my situation. The schools that I'm waitlisted are: Stonybrook, Icahn at Mount Sinai, Yale, NYU, UCLA, and Hopkins. For those that are interested, I was also rejected from Mayo Clinic post... Yale vs. NYU
Hey all - I've been rather fortunate this cycle and am down to deciding between NYU and Yale. Honestly, I am leaning rather strongly towards NYU, based off of its great location, Bellevue as a training site, and the good home residency programs, amongst other factors. I also have a strong interest in surgical specialities, and have always wanted to do medical school in a big city after doing undergrad in a slightly less urban environment. While Yale is obviously a phenomenal program, and... Yale vs. NYU (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Academic EM programs with best research resources
I'm an MD/PhD student interested in EM. I'm trying to learn more about the opportunities for research by looking at academic programs with good infrastructure built in for conducting basic & clinical research. I've started making a list of programs that seem to fit this bill (have MD/PhD faculty, conduct basic science research, etc.) Cincinnati MGH/BWH BIDMC U Maryland UCSF NYU Hopkins UPMC Indiana Vanderbilt Stanford, Brown, Penn, Yale? (these don't seem to have excellent EM specific... Academic EM programs with best research resources (Source: Student Doctor Network)
