NYU vs. Yale
I am currently making a really tough decision for NYU vs. Yale. I want to do academic medicine and have interests in Urban Health! Here are pros and cons Both - High STEP, STEP after clinicals, 1.5 years Yale Pros - Research, Thesis, Collegiality, P/F - Have some interests in policy, health equity, etc. - unique anatomy course - surgically based - a lot of my role models in the field of medicine graduated from there Cons - COA - 90K/year - P/F (maybe)... Mayo vs Top Medical School
Please don't bash me for asking this question. I am a Yale senior. Would you say that Mayo, MN is as prestigious as the other Ivies. Let's say that I don't have any concerns about class size, weather, or fees. I got accepted into Mayo and am trying to see if I should wait and apply next year to see if I could get into Harvard, Stanford, Johns Hopkins, or Yale (my dream schools). Yale vs. Northwestern
After seemingly have decided on a school, everything changed over the weekend due to new financial information. I’ve narrowed down my choices between Northwestern and Yale but am terribly conflicted about my decision. Monday is almost here... To clarify, I wouldn’t have to take out loans for either of these schools, but Yale is 80k more expensive over 4 years. Northwestern (120k) Pros +++: Location (Chicago, family in town and close by in the Midwest means great support system)... Yale vs. Northwestern (Source: Student Doctor Network)

UCSF vs. Yale
Hi there, I'm interested in primary care. UCSF is about 40-50k more expensive for me than Yale; I'm also a fan of the Yale System and curriculum, and I would enjoy taking four years to leave the bay area (I'm from nearby). UCSF is the better regarded school and is especially much better in primary care, so I'm conflicted on what to do. I would want to match back in California, which I'm guessing will be easier to do from SF. What would you all choose if you were in my shoes? Is it worth... WashU vs Yale vs Columbia (WL)
Hello everyone, I've currently in a very tough position. I am in the position that I will not be able to make a decision between May and June, so if I get off the wait list at Columbia , I have designated a family member to make a decision for me so I need to have all of this fleshed out now. I am currently considering WashU vs Yale with being on Columbia's waitlist. I visited washu's second look but was not able to make Yales. WashU: Pros: -Love the central west end and the area of the... WashU vs Yale vs Columbia (WL) (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Yale vs UCLA
Just wondering what people would choose if they had to pick between these two institutions. The cost of attendance is essentially the same for me, so no need to consider that. I'm asking more so what you would do if given the choice between these two schools. I'm interested in primary care, so it seems like the better bet would be LA. Unfortunately, I'm from Orange County so LA is basically home for me. It's tough deciding between staying at home and leaving to go get a new experience on... UCLA (Geffen Scholarship) vs UCSF vs Yale vs Johns Hopkins
Hi everyone, So I finally heard back from the last school I was waiting on, and now I have to start figuring out where I’m matriculating. I’m thankful that I had a successful cycle, but I have no clue how to decide on a school now. Here’s my little blurb about each school, hopefully you all can give me advice on this decision. UCLA (Full COA Scholarship) UCLA is the only school that has released my financial aid package, and thankfully I was selected as a Geffen Scholar. Although... Harvard vs. Yale vs. UMichigan
Hi everyone! Never thought I'd be posting something like this! I got way more love with my applications than I was expecting, which is making the decision making process really difficult. Being of really low income, cost is my number one concern in deciding where to go. These are my three most affordable options (prices for 4 years next to name) as I would have full need/merit based financial aid (minus living expenses) at each of them. My next biggest concern is that the place have a... Harvard vs. Yale vs. UMichigan (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Harvard vs. Penn vs. Yale vs. Columbia
Okay, so I have been WILDLY fortunate this application cycle and now need to choose from these options. If anyone could give me advice on choosing among these schools (all of which, arguably, could get me wherever I needed to go after residency, so essentially equivalent resources), that would be really helpful! A couple things about me that might help: I don't really care about the difference in total clinical year time. I'm not looking for a competitive environment, and... Yale vs. Columbia vs. Northwestern
Hello, everyone. I'm currently trying to decide between Yale, Columbia, and Northwestern. I'm leaning more toward Yale or Columbia, but I'm having some difficulty in choosing. I don't have any financial aid information yet, but I'm hoping to have these schools sorted into some sort of ranking so that I can make the most holistic (I will never escape this word) choice possible. I am extremely interested in health care policy/business, as well as writing within and about medicine. Without... Yale vs. Columbia vs. Northwestern (Source: Student Doctor Network)

IMG 265 on the step1 and 6 rejections for US clinical electives. Why?
Hi guys, I am a medical student in Europe and currently in the process of applying for clinical electives at US med schools. I have already passed the step1 with 265 and have been in the USA for 3 months of research at a top institution. So far I have been rejected by all the 6 institutions to which I have applied for electives, that is Mayo, Cleveland Clinic, Harvard, Cornell, Yale and Jefferson University. They didn't give me any reasons for the rejection. I applied for months... IMG 265 on the step1 and 6 rejections for US clinical electives. Why? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Post-doc advice: Prestige vs future job stability?
Hello! I am currently an intern and like many others on this site, will be starting to interview for post-docs in a few weeks. For some background about my situation before I get to my question, I attended a well-ranked PhD program in clinical psychology. However, although the program was at a solid research university, it didn’t have the impressive ‘name’ cache of some school like say, Berkeley, Yale, etc. I plan on pursuing a clinical postdoc and career that mainly focuses on therapy and...
