MD Research Requirements for MSTP Students
From looking into different MSTPs I've noticed that some MD programs either require or encourage research and/or writing a thesis (e.g. Yale, Harvard, UCSF Distinction program). Does anyone know if these requirements also apply to MSTP students? Do MSTP students use the MD thesis to do more clinical than basic research? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Baylor vs. Yale
So I was all set to go to Baylor and then I got accepted off of the Yale waitlist, and now I'm very torn. Any advice appreciated! Baylor: + great social support: close to parents (4 hours), close to several friends, 4 hours from significant other + in-state tuition + TMC is amazing - a little harder to fit research in (no protected research time, no thesis requirement, no summer after 1st year) - only one student run free clinic and was told at second look that it's pretty overcrowded and... Yale vs. UCSF
Hi all - long time lurker, first-time poster. I have narrowed down my options to these two and would appreciate any thoughts/input on them as I have to pick in a few days... Both will cost about the same so finances are not really a deciding factor here. I am also very open-minded going into medical school, but have interests in ortho/sports medicine, something neuro, health policy, and global health. Yale (free) vs Harvard (125-135k in debt at 4 years)
Hi all - as the deadline to choose where I will be matriculating to medical school quickly approaches, I have narrowed down my options to two schools: Yale or Harvard. Yale (Full cost of attendance covered: living, tuition, technology...EVERYTHING) This seems like the safest option. I went to Yale for undergrad and currently do research here during my gap year. Hi there, I'm interested in primary care. UCSF is about 40-50k more expensive for me than Yale; I'm also a fan of the Yale System and curriculum, and I would enjoy taking four years to leave the bay area (I'm from nearby). UCSF is the better regarded school and is especially much better in primary care, so I'm conflicted on what to do.
