Discouraged- Course retakes.
Hey everyone, I've been retaking courses for grade replacement for a couple of semesters. For some of my retakes, I got an A- the second time around. My heart is so heavy right now, because I really thought I had a 4.0 this semester, but I got 2 A-'s instead. I'm wondering how this will be viewed by the admissions committees. I'll probably be applying to medical school with a GPA of 3.3-3.4. However, I have really good extracurriculars, and research publications from Yale on a topic in... Discouraged- Course retakes. Love Reading: Should I Continue?
Hey guys. So, I just finished my first semester of college pretty strong (thank God!). I have serious time management problems, but I still attempted things I thought unimaginable a year ago. But, looking at my extracurricular life, I feel confused. I mean, I joined one premedical club, but you know...such is the name for fundraiser organizations. So I got out of there. I also got in a Christian evangelist club (yeah, I am not Christian by the way because I really like learning about... Love Reading: Should I Continue? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Worth transferring from Columbia to Harvard?
To begin with, I am fully aware that I am in a very fortunate spot in life and I would emphasize that I am truly grateful for being where I am now. I'm finishing up my first semester of college at Columbia and ended up doing very well despite going for a rather heavy course load. I matriculated at Columbia because it was my third choice and I was not admitted in the end to Harvard or Yale, my other top choices. I entered Columbia believing that I will stay here and have fun and grow as a... Worth transferring from Columbia to Harvard? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Advice to round out application, 3.8/36
Looking for advice to round out my application going into secondaries/interviews. The advice I've gotten so far is that my research/teaching is top notch, but I need more unique volunteering to demonstrate compassion and something that makes me stand out. I just graduated undergraduate and am applying this cycle. My goal is to stay in California. I would take UCSD/UCLA/UCSF over Harvard/Yale/Hopkins any day. cGPA/sGPA: 3.8 MCAT: 11/14 (bio)/11 Research: Research assistant in structural... 3.97 GPA, 520 MCAT--Where could I get a Scholarship
Hey all, I've been fortunate to get through 3 years with a good GPA and MCAT. My question is where could I get a scholarship with these stats? I know I have a great shot at schools not in the top 20 or so, but what about top 20 schools: specifically Harvard, Yale, Cornell, Columbia, Perelman, Hopkins, UCLA, UCSF. A bit about me: MCAT: 131 on 3 sections, 127 on Bio (I'm a bit worried that the Relatively low bio score will worry people since I'm a bio major. But also I still have most of my... 3.97 GPA, 520 MCAT--Where could I get a Scholarship (Source: Student Doctor Network)
