Interrupting Effect of Social Distancing on Ischemic Heart Disease, Asthma, Stroke, and Suicide Attempt Patients by PM < sub > 2.5 < /sub > Exposure

Suicide and suicidality in Australian Defence Force veterans: A systematic scoping review
CONCLUSIONS: Gaps were identified in relation to the relative contributions to risk from transition, the various psychosocial correlates (for example, relationships, finances, employment), pre-service factors and the extent to which these are causal or mediating in nature. A better understanding of health service utilisation would also aid in targeting preventive efforts. Future research in these areas is warranted.PMID:38650320 | DOI:10.1177/00048674241246443 (Source: The Australian and New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry)

Patient-related stressful experiences in psychiatry residency
CONCLUSION: In this study new patient related stressful experiences are reported that have not previously been described in the literature. Since estimating the impact of a patient related stressful experience proves difficult, it seems appropriate that the environment of the resident offers active support and further development of residents’ skills is stimulated.PMID:38650512 (Source: Tijdschrift voor Psychiatrie)

A longitudinal network analysis of suicide risk factors among service members and veterans sampled for suicidal ideation or attempt
CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest that ineffectiveness, low belongingness, and agitation are important drivers of moment-to-moment and longitudinal relations between risk factors for suicidal ideation in ADSM and veterans. Targeting these symptoms may disrupt suicidal ideation.PMID:38651175 | DOI:10.1017/S0033291724000734 (Source: Psychological Medicine)

Structural adverse childhood experiences associated with suicidal ideation, suicide attempts, and repetitive nonsuicidal self-injury among racially and ethnically minoritized youth
CONCLUSION: Reducing structural ACEs may reduce SI, SA, and repetitive NSSI among ethnoracially minoritized youth populations. Disaggregating diverse youth groups revealed variations in these outcomes that remain hidden when subpopulations are aggregated.PMID:38651757 | DOI:10.1111/sltb.13084 (Source: Suicide and Life-Threatening Behavior)
