Midlife diseases of despair and cardiometabolic risk: testing shared origins in adolescent psychopathology
CONCLUSIONS: Adolescent psychopathology precedes both diseases of despair and cardiometabolic risk. Prevention and treatment of psychopathology may mitigate multiple causes of poor midlife health, reducing premature mortality.PMID:38618989 | DOI:10.1017/S0033291724000916 (Source: Psychological Medicine)

Quercetin alleviates chronic unpredictable mild stress-induced depression-like behavior by inhibiting NMDAR1 with α2δ-1 in rats
CONCLUSIONS: Que has a good antidepressant effect and can significantly improve the depression-like behavior caused by CUMS. It exerts antidepressant effects by inhibiting the expression level of α2δ-1, interfering with the interaction between α2δ-1 and NMDAR, and then reducing the excitability of the HPA axis.PMID:38615365 | PMC:PMC11016343 | DOI:10.1111/cns.14724 (Source: CNS Neuroscience and Therapeutics)

Examining domains of psychological flexibility and inflexibility as treatment mechanisms in acceptance and commitment therapy: A comprehensive systematic and meta-analytic review
Clin Psychol Rev. 2024 Apr 10;110:102432. doi: 10.1016/j.cpr.2024.102432. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe current systematic and meta-analytic review sought to integrate a growing number of studies examining dimensions of psychological flexibility as treatment mechanisms for Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Analyses of 77 records (67 unique studies; Ntotal = 9123 participants) from comprehensive searches of multiple databases suggested that ACT interventions led to reduced inflexibility (i.e., lowered global inflexibility, lack of present moment awareness, cognitive fusion, experiential avoidance, self-as-content...
