An Acad Bras Cienc. 2023 May 19;95(1):e20201338. doi: 10.1590/0001-3765202320201338. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTThe aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the bodying agents (erythritol, sorbitol, xylitol, and polydextrose) and their mixtures on the preparation of mixed Brazilian Cerrado fruit preserves (marolo, soursop, and sweet passion fruit). Mixture design was used for product optimization and the preserves were evaluated by texture profile, stress relaxation test, and uniaxial compression test. The research data were analyzed using regression equations on SAS software. The results indicated that the rheologica...

Comparative assessment of physicochemical, structural and functional properties of dietary fiber extracted from mango (Mangifera indica L.) and soursop (Annona muricata) peels
Int J Biol Macromol. 2023 Mar 21:124116. doi: 10.1016/j.ijbiomac.2023.124116. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe potential of soursop, a less well-known tropical fruit, was assessed as a source of dietary fiber (DF) and compared to mango. After optimizing the conditions to maximize the extraction yield of soluble and insoluble DF, their structural, physicochemical, and functional properties were evaluated. The results showed that soursop excelled in total and insoluble DF content (50 % higher than mango). The antioxidant response and reducing sugar content obtained for soursop were significantly higher than in mango. Yet, t...

Antimicrobial, antioxidant, cytotoxicity and photocatalytic performance of Co doped ZnO nanoparticles biosynthesized using Annona Muricata leaf extract
AbstractIn the present study, ZnO nanoparticles doped with 3%, 5% and 7% of cobalt have been synthesized by green method usingAnnona muricata leaf extract. The obtained nanopowder was characterised by XRD, FTIR, XPS, HRTEM, SAED, SEM, EDAX and UV –Visible spectroscopy techniques. XRD patterns confirm the formation of pure and Co doped ZnO nanoparticles with a hexagonal wurtzite structure with high phase purity. FTIR spectra indicate the stretching vibration of Zn–O at 495 cm−1. The incorporation of Co2+ ions into the ZnO lattice was identified by XPS analysis. EDX spectra confirm the existence of Co, Zn and O elemen...

Molecules, Vol. 28, Pages 231: Evaluation of Genotoxicity and Toxicity of Annona muricata L. Seeds and In Silico
¢ni Dolabela Cancer is a multifactorial organic dysfunction for which great efforts are being devoted in searching for new treatments and therapeutic adjuvants. Annona muricata is a fruit that has promising activity against several types of cancer, as it contains acetogenins, the metabolite group associated with this action. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate, in experimental models, the toxic behavior of an extract and fraction rich in acetogenins from A. muricata seeds and study the acetogenin, Annonacin, in silico. Phytochemical characterization was made by thin layer chromatography, spectroscopy in t...

Evaluation of Genotoxic Effect and Antigenotoxic Potential against DNA Damage of the Aqueous and Ethanolic Leaf Extracts of < em > Annona muricata < /em > Using an In Vivo Erythrocyte Rodent Micronucleus Assay
This study evaluated the genotoxic potential and antigenotoxic activities of A. muricata aqueous and ethanolic leaf extracts by employing an in vivo erythrocyte rodent micronucleus assay. Different doses (187.5, 375, and 750 mg/kg) of both extracts were administered orally for 5 days alone and combined with cyclophosphamide (CP, 60 mg/kg) to BALB/c mice. Also, it was administered orally to Wistar rats for 5 days through the final stage of gestation. No genotoxic or cytotoxic effects were observed in the two adult rodent models when A. muricata was administered orally nor in newborn rats transplacentally exposed to the extr...

Immunosuppressive Effects of Annona muricata L. Leaf Extract on Cellular and Humoral Immune Responses in Male Wistar Rats
CONCLUSION: The strong inhibitory effects on the different parameters of humoral and cellular responses indicate that AMLE has potential to be an important source of effective immunosuppressive agents.PMID:36545731 | DOI:10.2174/1389201024666221221113020 (Source: Current Pharmaceutical Biotechnology)
