Chemical and Physical analysis of the liquid fractions from soursop seed cake obtained using slow pyrolysis conditions
This study analyzed the fractions obtained by applying slow pyrolysis to soursop ( Annona Muricata L.) seed cake. The temperature employed was 400°C because of the interest in the four products obtained at this temperature. The bio-oil, biochar, gas and aqueous fraction were obtained with yields 18.6%, 32.2%, 17.7% and 31.5% (w/w), respectively. The oil and aqueous fraction were analyzed by GCMS and showed a composition of phenol derivatives, furan, some acids and esters as main components and in the case of the oil, also hydrocarbons were observed. The profile of the fragments observed in the mass spectra of the compound...

Antinociceptive and Antihyperalgesic Activity of a Traditional Maya Herbal Preparation Composed of Pouteria Campechiana, Chrysophyllum Cainito, Citrus Limonum, and Annona Muricata
ABSTRACT The purpose of this work was to assess the antinociceptive and antihyperalgesic properties of an herbal preparation, composed of four vegetal species: Pouteria campechiana (P. campechiana), Chrysophyllum cainito (C. cainito), Citrus limonum (C. limonum), and Annona muricata (A. muricata), that is commonly used in combination (PCCA) in traditional Mayan medicine for the treatment of diabetes and pain. An ethanolic extract of PCCA was prepared at a ratio of 1:1:1:1 for each plant. The systemic antinociceptive effect of PCCA extract (50–600 mg/kg, p.o.) was dose‐dependent in the rat formalin (1%) producing...

Immunomodulatory Efficacy of Standardized Annona muricata (Graviola) Leaf Extract via Activation of Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase Pathways in RAW 264.7 Macrophages.
Authors: Kim GT, Tran NK, Choi EH, Song YJ, Song JH, Shim SM, Park TS Abstract Annona muricata, commonly known as Graviola, has been utilized as a traditional medicine to treat various human diseases. The aim of this study was to examine the immune-enhancing activity of Graviola leaf extracts in RAW 264.7 macrophage cells. Active ingredients in Graviola leaf extracts (GE) were identified as kaempferol-3-O-rutinoside and quercetin-3-O-rutinoside by LC-MS/MS. When treated with steam or 50% ethanol GE, cell morphology was altered due to initiation of cell differentiation. While the cell viability was not alte...
