Clinical efficacy of montelukast sodium combined with budesonide or combined with loratadine in treating children with cough variant asthma and influence on inflammatory factors in the serum.
In conclusion, the method of montelukast sodium combined with budesonide or loratadine are both worthy of clinical promotion because they have equivalent efficacy in the treatment of cough variant asthma to effectively improve the lung function and inflammatory response in patients and both bring less adverse reactions and lower recurrence rate. Capsule biopsy of acellular dermal matrix (ADM) to predict future capsular contracture in two-stage prosthetic breast reconstruction
Capsular contracture is a common reason for implant removal in implant-based breast surgery. Acellular dermal matrix (ADM) is often placed along the inferolateral border of the pectoralis major muscle in order to prevent capsular contracture.1 Leukotriene inhibitors, including Montelukast (Singulair) and Zafirlukast (Accolate), were recently introduced in research studies as medical agents to prevent capsular contracture. Systemic action of these medical agents, however, can bring unignorable side effects and cause additional economic burden. (Source: Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery)

[Clinical and inflammatory phenotypic features of asthmatic patients sensitive to cold stimulation].
CONCLUSIONS: The cold-sensitive asthmatic patients experience frequent recurrent and/or aggravated symptoms and have obvious lung function impairment. Different from that in patients with classic asthma, the airway inflammatory phenotype in these patients is characterized by the domination by neutrophilic subtype. Montelukast Sodium Formulation containing Green Tea Extract to Reduce the Oxidative Stress in Guinea Pig model of Chronic Allergic Asthma.
CONCLUSION: It is contemplated that, use of GTE as an adjuvant to anti leukotriene drug played a significant role in asthma management by reducing oxidant injury. Since, studies in animals do not directly translate to human biology, further multi-control studies with better sampled patient population and more number of patients is needed. Study of degradation behaviour of montelukast sodium and its marketed formulation in oxidative and accelerated test conditions and prediction of physicochemical and ADMET properties of its degradation products using ADMET Predictor™
This study was aimed to understand the degradation behaviour of the drug in different oxidative media containing hydrogen peroxide, AIBN, Fe3+, Fenton’s reagent and O2 environment under normal laboratory light conditions. The degradation behaviour of the drug was also evaluated in solid sate under ICH recommended accelerated stability condition of 40 °C/75% RH to correlate with the degradation products (DPs) formed in a solid oral formulation. A total of nine DPs (MTK 1 to MTK 9) were formed from both the drug substance and the marketed tablet formulation on storage under controlled oxygen environment in normal labora...

[The patients' cost of the montelukast therapy due to the generic substitution].
CONCLUSION: Due to the generic competition, the patients' access to drugs containing montelukast sodium increased significantly: the DOT increased, the co-payment decreased. Orv Hetil. 2018; 159(17): 682-687. PMID: 29681174 [PubMed - in process] (Source: Orvosi Hetilap)

γ-Irradiated chitosan based injectable hydrogels for controlled release of drug (Montelukast sodium).
Abstract Novel pH-sensitive γ-irradiated low molecular weight chitosan (CS) (pre-irradiated) and poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) blended injectable hydrogels, crosslinked with varying concentrations of glycerol, were fabricated for drug delivery application. The effect of low molecular weight irradiated CS on controlled drug release was evaluated to address the problem of higher viscosity and lower solubility of high molecular weight CS. The FTIR spectra of hydrogels depicted the presence of all the incorporated functional groups and the developed interactions (physical and chemical). The surface morphology of...
