Incidental diagnosis of a rare pancreatic plasmacytoma with plasmablastic features
We report a case of a 78-year-old woman with a long-standing history of multiple myeloma noted to have pancreatic tail involvement with plasmacytoma with plasmablastic features. Multiple myeloma with plasmablastic transformation has a poor prognosis; hence, a multidisciplinary team approach is crucial to identify and initiate appropriate management in these cases.PMID:36578587 | PMC:PMC9762785 | DOI:10.1080/08998280.2022.2132790 (Source: Baylor University Medical Center Proceedings)

Survival trends and prognostic factors for patients with extramedullary plasmacytoma: A population-based study
ConclusionThe survival of patients with EMP did not improve in recent years. The EMP-PI will facilitate the risk stratification and guide the risk-adapted therapy in patients with EMP. (Source: Frontiers in Oncology)

Clinical Presentation and Outcome of Sinonasal Extraosseous Plasmacytoma in Denmark: A Nationwide Cohort From 1980 to 2017
CONCLUSION: SN-EOP responds well to radiotherapy, but relapse and conversion to PCM were not uncommon and entailed a poor prognosis. Most tumors were endoscopically resectable and non-invasive, making the majority of tumors suitable for surgery as an addition to radiation.PMID:36433794 | DOI:10.1177/00034894221139362 (Source: The Annals of Otology, Rhinology, and Laryngology)

Neuroendocrine Tumor of Tailgut Cyst with Unexpected Metastases
Nucl Med Mol Imaging. 2022 Dec;56(6):323-327. doi: 10.1007/s13139-022-00775-1. Epub 2022 Oct 1.ABSTRACTNeuroendocrine tumors (NETs) originate from the neuroendocrine cells, which are found in various organs. NETs occur frequently in the gastrointestinal tract. NETs arising from tailgut cysts are uncommon. We herein report an interesting case of metastatic tailgut cyst NET, which was firstly diagnosed as plasmacytoma.PMID:36425276 | PMC:PMC9679128 | DOI:10.1007/s13139-022-00775-1 (Source: Molecular Medicine)
