Prospective Application for Pre-med student? Chances? On the right track?
Hi everyone! I'm a freshman student and I have created a detailed plan/portfolio that I want to achieve for medical school. I believe it highlights my passions as well as my competencies that show that I will be a good physician. I have left out the names of all the institutions where the following are done. (disclaimers at bottom, please read before replying) Major: Double Major: B.S Cell & Molecular Biology, B.A Economics, Fall 2021 GPA: 3.89 or higher (will not allow more than one B for... Are you able to become a vet with only a biology degere?
Hi, I'm about to attend college in January, however, I want to make sure I have everything set before attending. I have researched an in-state college that offers a biology course. On their website, it says "In all of its forms, from the molecular level to the whole organism, studies in biology create opportunities that prepare students for a full range of professions. A degree in biology also prepares graduates to pursue other academic interests like med school, pharmacology or veterinary... Are you able to become a vet with only a biology degere? Should I try to go to med school?
I've lurked here for a month or two now, but just opened an account. I hope it's okay if I ask a question that seems to get asked a lot. My question is whether you'd go back to med school if you were me? I'm 41, graduated from UC Berkeley, molecular and cell biology major, did all my pre-med prerequisites back then, 3.9 GPA (both science and overall GPA). I did some research in oncology as an undergrad and even had a small publication. When I graduated, start-ups and the internet in general... Should I try to go to med school? Help me figure out which schools to apply to? (High MCAT, low uGPA)
Hello everyone. So I am re-applying to medical school this year after not casting nearly a wide enough net last year. I am a non-traditional student with a master's degree in molecular biology. My graduate GPA was a 3.9. I now work full-time as a researcher. My undergraduate GPA was a 2.7, unfortunately, due to significant and weird circumstances which I have thoroughly explained in my personal statement. I just took the MCAT this year and got a 516. Here is a list of the schools that... Help me figure out which schools to apply to? (High MCAT, low uGPA) (Source: Student Doctor Network)

My Chances, to apply or not
I'm struggling a bit with whether or not to submit an (albeit, slightly late) application this cycle, or wait until next year. Background is: GPA 3.79, sGPA probably around 3.6, MCAT 513, leadership in undergrad medical brigade, worked in research for 2.5 years (nothing published), graduated summa cum laude in Molecular Biology from CU Boulder in 2014. After graduation family circumstances drove me off course a bit; built a brewery from dirt up doing all the construction just me and my... My Chances, to apply or not (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Nucleic acids, proteins, and molecular cloning lab: Biology or Chemistry to AMCAS?
I'm trying to decide if I've met the biology lab requirements for med schools and I'm unsure how the AMCAS will classify the above class. They say that biochemistry is under chemistry while molecular biology is under biology, but this class straddles the two. Having taken the class, it's most molecular biology (making plasmids, running agarose gels, PCR, etc.), but I'm worried the AMCAS will disagree. What does everyone think? Thank you! DAT studying question? Advise Tips? Suggestion?
Hi, My exam is August 1st. I've been studying since May. I've been studying through, Destroyer + Bootcamp. My question, is how reliable is Bootcamp for scores? I haven't taken a full practice exam. I am asking because I started bootcamp without reviewing anything at all, it was back in May, and I was scoring 17 in BIO,16 in GC, OC. I decided to start reviewing my Campbell book, plus I just finished a Physiology class, I also took Microbiology, & Molecular biology. I was so scare of taking... DAT studying question? Advise Tips?
