How do some applicants have so many publications?
Hi all,
I've noticed, especially on some WAMCs, that some applicants have 2-3+ publications, oftentimes with first authorship in reputable journals. As a first year post-bac at the NIH working in a molecular biology lab, I've spent a good 6 months working on tasks that won't ultimately result in publication, and am lucky enough to now have my own project which my PI claims will eventually be publishable. Upper division class shares same name as lower division class?
Hey all,
This might be a convoluted, but here goes. I'm enrolled in a post-bacc program right now and am taking a course titled "Cellular and Molecular Biology" that's 300-level. I was going over my old transcripts from the undergrad institution I graduated from and the intro-sequence Biology class they offered had a similar name, titled "Fundamentals of Biology: Cellular and Molecular Biology." Currently doing post bacc. I am currently failing one of my classes. Should I still try for at least a B- or drop?
The class I'm failing is Molecular Biology 2. The material isn't hard. The reason I'm failing is that I used my own words when creating flashcards. The teacher isn't testing us on whether we understand the material. He is testing us on whether we know the stuff on the powerpoints word from word. I underestimated the class which is my fault. Lack of Shadowing Hours on Application
I am a John Carroll Grad. Cell and Molecular Biology major with a 3.73 GPA. GRE: 155 Quant 154 Verb, 4.5 Writing. 500 hours of Parkinson's Disease research in a gap year so far. I only have 60 shadowing hours, 40 outpatient and 20 inpatient, but I switched from an early acceptance in DO school to pre-pt at the end of my senior year. I explained this in my personal statement.
