Only one semester of Intro BIO offered at my CC
Hello SDN, My community college offers only one semester of Intro BIO w/lab. The course covers all topics found in the two-semester sequence offered at other colleges. Should I take the second semester of general BIO (e.g. BIO 2) at another community college or an upper division BIO class like Cell and Molecular Biology to satisfy the premed requirement of two BIOs w/lab? To drop out or not
Hello strangers. Long story short, I’m a rising ms3 and hate medical school and can’t see myself being a doctor. I’m debating whether dropping out or finish the MD and find a job. Are there careers for MDs without a residency? Just a little background, I’m interested in biological/molecular psych, psychopharm, etc... i pretty much came to med school only interested in psych, really don’t have any interest in learning about anything else of medicine. However I see the current state of psych... To drop out or not (Source: Student Doctor Network)

SMP decision help needed! 2 days to decide
So I've recently been accepted to a couple SMP programs for academic enhancement and I've narrowed it down to Tulane's masters in cell and molecular biology program and Kansas City University of Medicine's master of biomedical science. My goal after the program is MD. I'd really appreciate some insight on which program to go with or anyone's prior experiences with either program. I like that Tulane offers MCAT prep in their program, but I like that KCU's program is through the medical... SMP decision help needed! 2 days to decide (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Is it a smart idea to keep pursuing a premed track if you are too stupid for premed classes as evidenced by your grades and this path has given you li
**Disclaimer: Wrote this when I was very emotional and pissed.** Long story short, I’m 21 now, but I’ve wanted to be a doctor since I was 10 or so, of my own accord, mostly. No family pressure or anything like that. I started off at Berkeley as a molecular and cellular biology major but struggled a lot in Organic Chemistry 1, earning a B-minus, the lowest grade I’ve ever earned in my life. What made it worse is that I knew a handful of people who excelled in the class (A’s) whereas I... Hello everyone, I'm reapplying this year as I only got one interview offer last cycle (and no admissions) for the 2019-2020 cycle. I did apply pretty late last time; completed applications around early October 2019. Hoping to gain admittance to any MD school - WAMC
-cGPA = 3.32 and sGPA = 3.26 (upward trend except for last semester when cGPA tanked from 3.37-3.32 - mental illness, other irrelevant circumstances). SMP in Preclinical sciences GPA will end up being either 3.59 or 3.67 (will know next week)** **Double majored during UG in biochemistry & molecular biology and Computer science at the University of Georgia. MD or PhD?
Hello, I am an undergraduate student majoring in Cell and Molecular Biology and minoring in Public Health and Chemistry. I just finished my second year. I was pre-med when I first entered college, but am now thinking about going to grad school for a PhD for a few reasons: I have a deep interest in cell biology, biochemistry, and organic chemistry and would love to explore these subjects through grad school. I don’t think I would like memorizing the massive volume of information... MD or PhD? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

I don ’t like my job and don’t know what to do
I was a premed many years ago. I got a masters in molecular biology, was accepted to a school and then found out I was pregnant. This predates MomMd. I was given a year off, but I stupidly did not go back. I taugh bio at a university and took more courses. I had the chance to apply again and was in full-time MCAT study mode. Then I was diagnosed with cancer. Two years later, I was better. I felt med school was over. I had wanted to be a psychiatrist so badly. I decided to get a PhD in... Do upper-levels science courses needed in medical schools?
Hey, I’m a rising sophomore major in chemical engineering. Due to my major, I don’t have that much time to complete many upper-levels chem/bio courses as the tradition pre-med I definitely would take biochemistry 1 with anatomy and physiology. My questions is would it be enough to survive in medical schools later on? I’m worry that I won’t have a strong background as others. In addition, I'm considering taking cell molecular too. Is is going to help me with the MCAT or do general biology... Do upper-levels science courses needed in medical schools? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

26 yo, military, low undergrad GPA, in Lehigh M.S. Program - M.D or M.D-PhD?
So... I originally attended the University of Pittsburgh and partied my face off. I joined the Marine Corps for a good ol' kick in the butt and I've served in the reserves for 6 years. I meanwhile finished school elsewhere and attained a B.S. in Cell & Molecular Biology with a Chem minor. I had very demanding military obligations during the school year and often had to withdraw from classes or miss quizzes/tests if my professors weren't sympathetic. I graduated with a 2.9 GPA, mostly due to... 26 yo, military, low undergrad GPA, in Lehigh M.S. Program - M.D or M.D-PhD? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Pre Requisites 1 year vs credits
While I did look pre requisites for med school, many indicated 1 yr Biology with Lab. Does it indicate two semesters with one biology course for each semester along with Lab? I did take Cell and Molecular Bio and A and P 1 along with both Labs in one semester. Does it mean I met the requirement or should I need to take additional biology for another semester? Thank you, Abhilash (Source: Student Doctor Network)

WAMC - Non-traditional applicant: 2020-2021 cycle
cGPA: 3.73 I'm not sure exactly how it will all calculate since I transferred and took some CC classes during high school/summer, plus a few online classes during break/after graduating, but I did a quick estimate and it seems to shake out to 3.73-3.74. sGPA: 3.6? This is strictly chemistry, biology, organic chemistry, physics, math, statistics, biochem, and cell & molecular bio -- not sure if I should include things like genetics, metabolic nutrition, kinesiology... Help a confused student
Hello all! I just got my college acceptances back for my undergraduate schools! Right now, I'm stuck between two different universities and was wondering if any of you guys could help me with that. I know that the UCs aren't typically good pre-med programs, but I was wondering which of these you guys would take. I've made a pros-cons list down below. Thank you so much! UC Berkeley (Regents!!!)
