Effect of fluency in multiple languages to med school acceptance?
Hi everyone, I know that this question has been asked many times, and I've been doing some research but everything that I have found is either outdated or not exactly the answer that I am looking for. Essentially, my goal is to stand out in the flood of applications that med schools receive every year. I am going to major in Cellular/Molecular Biology (not because I think that med schools expect it, but because it is what I'm interested in), so obviously my application is more likely to... Distinct Double or Triple Major,
Hello, I'm currently a Psychology and Molecular Cell Biology Double major. I have a lot of passion for learning about nutrition at my school. Would you recommend staying one extra semester doing research, shadowing and finishing one or two more classes in order to get Nutrition degree? Nutrition and MCB have overlap and are similar but core of nutrition is how vitamins affect the body and in which pathway they do. Would appreciate some advice. I can finish this Nutrition degree by time... Distinct Double or Triple Major, (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Can my numbers get me into somewhere like Columbia?
Hey guys, I just recently took the DAT in February and am finishing out my Junior year and planning on applying this summer. I plan on applying to my state school, but I thought I did well enough on the DAT to explore better options. My dream school would be Columbia, and I wanted to gather opinions on if my numbers could get me in! With one semester left my GPA won't change much, so here's what I have right now: Traditional student getting a degree in Cell and Molecular Biology oGPA: 3.67... Non-trad reapplying, need advice on pre-med advisor and gap year
Hey all, I'm a nontrad student mainly because I have a DUI conviction and an academic violation from 2010 which required me to take as much time as possible to prove myself. In the meantime, I've graduated with a double-major in Biology and Spanish, clocked in hundreds of hours of healthcare volunteer experience, did a research grad degree of a masters in molecular biology, held multiple leadership positions, founded a student org, did vaccine research at the NIH, and went abroad to do... Similar course names a problem on AMCAS?
I took a course about 8 years titled "Cell & Molecular Biology" which was part of my school's intro to biology sequence since they did not have a Bio 1 or 2. Now, at a different school, I want to take "Principles of Molecular Biology" which is labeled as an upper division biology course. You think I will have problems with this? Will AMCAS see this as the same course? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

C's In Biology Classes
Hello SDN, I am applying to medical school soon and I was wondering how multiple C+ in my biology classes will look to ADCOMS? On my transcript, I have 4 C+, all in biology classes like intro biology I, Genetics, cell structure, and molecular. Otherwise, I have mainly A's in chemistry classes (A few A- in my chemistry classes), but i'm worried that ADCOMS will think that my application is weak due to my weak biology skills. I got A-'s in both my biochemistry courses, so hopefully they... C's In Biology Classes (Source: Student Doctor Network)
