Undergrad Classes to Help with MCAT
Hello everyone. I am currently about to start my undergrad classes with a minor in biology. I was wondering if certain classes would help more than others. I want to form a class plan so that I can complete the minor both effectively, and be prepared (or at least have an idea) for the MCAT. These are the classes being offered and I hope someone can help me pick out which ones are the most helpful.

Kean University STEM Program? (NJCSTM)
Hi! So I'm a high school senior deciding on where to attend college and one of my (most affordable) options is the Kean University Biotechnology/Molecular Biology BS/MS Program at the New Jersey Center for Science, Technology, and Mathematics (NJCSTM). It seems that the program is pretty focused around research (getting involved in it from day one) and is pretty small (around 50-60) kids. Now, for this, I have generously received a full scholarship to cover tuition up until my masters (I'd...

Scared of the MCAT
I am going to be 27. I graduated with a 3.8 in Biochem & Molecular Biology from college 2 years ago, however feel like I've not retained anything that I learned.
I've previously published 2 papers when working as an intern conducting basic research one in nature communications, I now work full time working with neuromuscular disease patients in clinical trials full time in the office every single day at a state medical school.
I've gone through personal loss of loved ones from disease and...

How Helpful Is a Minor
I am currently a Physiology and Neurobiology major and considering a minor in Molecular Cell Biology. I will have 7/15 MCB credits when completing my major so I will need to take an additional 3 classes to get the remaining 8 credits. In order to do so, I would need to take 18-19 credits my last three semesters (About 12-14 credits will be upper level PNB/MCB courses). Will a minor make a significant impact on my dental school application? Past SDN post have said it does not at all, however...

Take Additional Biology Course or Study for DAT
Hello! I have a question regarding a decision to take a Molecular Biology class next semester.
I am planning on taking the DAT in summer 2021 and will start studying for it as soon as the Fall 2020 semester ends. I am struggling to decide whether I should take a Molecular Biology class (in addition to Orgo 2 + required humanities courses) or to only take Orgo 2 + my humanities courses and dedicate time to studying for the DAT. Taking enough courses for my major/to graduate is not an...

Advice please!!
I am an international student working as a research assistant. I completed my undergraduate study with a low gpa. I was head deep in depression for more than 2 years. Proceeded to a 1yr masters program in molecular biology and graduated with a 3.9gpa. I have applied to MD/ DO schools twice. The first time, I withdrew all my applications because I felt overwhelmed. My mcat is 500. I have little clinical experience but shadowed a cardiologist and volunteered at a free clinic for a week...

Pre-Dental: What courses should I take for upper level biology electives?
Help! I am currently in a jam with which upper level science electives to take. Here are my options: immunology, cell biology, endocrinology, molecular genetics, pathophysiology, medical botany, neurobiology, and developmental biology. I am leaning towards neurobiology, pathophysiology, medical botany, and immunology. I would take developmental biology, but the professor that teaches it at my university is kind of a joke and I heard it's really easy. I don't want to waste my time even though...

MD/PhD - Organic Synthesis
Would it be possible for one to get into a MD/PhD program specifically in an organic chemistry synthesis lab, without a chemistry bachelors degree? I graduated with a degree in molecular biology and a minor in chemistry for reference. Thanks in advance! (Source: Student Doctor Network)
