Can Dentist Have Medical Marijuana Card
Hello all. I'm a D1 student who currently has a MM card and I go to school where weed is legal. However, I was wondering if having a MM card affects my ability to get licensed in the future. Been searching the internet for a few days and don't really see anything. Only worry would be getting my DEA number and I'm not sure if having a card would affect that. My card will expire before graduation. Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

EPPP Florida Laws and Rules Exam
Anyone who has taken the Florida laws and rules exam have any advice? I found the "study packet" online but it's really just a long list of laws and codes. I take the exam in about 3 weeks. I've heard it's obviously easier than Part 1 (which I passed a few weeks ago 🥳), but I'm not sure what to expect since most of the stress and posts are focused on Part 1. How specific do they get in their questions? Any insight or suggestions on what to focus on? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

AAPIC Application (AAPI) Disclosing a Sealed Record
Hi there everyone. I'm applying to Clinical Psychology internships this fall (for the 2023-24 year) using AAPI and I'm unsure about disclosing a sealed record from 2012 when I was 18. I received a Minor in Possession of alcohol ticket, which is a misdemeanor without arrest, but it was sealed by the court after I completed their requirements shortly after. I haven't reported it on any employment, graduate school, or practicum applications/paperwork this far without consequence and, as far as... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Applying to clinical psych internships this year, current pending DUI charge (from 2021) versus convicted DUI?
I (25 y/o female) made a dumb mistake and drove home after going out last year (feb2021). I had a few drinks, on an empty stomach after working all day, and ignorantly thought that if i stopped drinking by 10:30ish I would be good to drive by 2. I really had no knowledge of BAC and how long it takes for alcohol to be fully processed. I got pulled over after almost missing my exit and I blew .1 (legal limit .08). My attorney tried to file a motion to dismiss based on no sufficient probable... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Fifth Circuit on ED Facility Fees
For those interested in legal stuff (at least in retirement I think that is a better hobby than a retired neighbor who sits all day on the street sweeping up gravel and dirt with a hand brush and pan) "The Volokh Conspiracy" has "Short Circuit", a weekly summary of interesting court cases across the country. Short Circuit for September 2nd One is a federal appeal to the Fifth Circuit on whether Mississippi hospitals have a duty to close Emergency Department facility fees (referred to... Warning of AMCs financial collapse? Better watch your back.
Seeing multiple threads here with information about financial troubles of AMCs. One physician opposed his hospital being sold to an even shadier entity and told his colleagues about looming financial insolvency. What happened next seems unbelievable even as a movie involving planted weapons, drugs, car sabotage, and other intimidation along with buying off police and a judge. Glad the guy finally won his lawsuit but 5.7 million seems like too small of a judgement... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Interesting development in UVA case!

Residents learning in your department
Hi! I am 2nd year pathology resident from Spain. I am interested in finding out what the teaching organization of residents in your pathology department is like, especially the residents who have just joined. In my department, the teaching organization is practically non-existent. We legally have a chief of residents, but he does absolutely nothing. I am interested above all in the organization of the R1 and, especially, how grossing for the R1 is organized in your department. In my... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
