Man pleads guilty in death of military doctor
Taylor was on his cellphone while driving the forklift in an area shared by vehicles and pedestrians, and he didn’t see Leli before striking her, according to court documents. An investigation found that Taylor would have seen Leli walking from about 50 feet away if he had not been using his phone, and that he had almost nine seconds to avoid the fatal collision.

Employment Questions
I want to learn a little more about things I should do before signing a job offer. Ideally, I would go over the contract with a lawyer and try to negotiate the contract. Realistically, I do not want to spend >$1,000 (guess) for attorney fees.
Also, I want to know a little bit about how did you decide to choose one practice over the other.
What about some suspicious signs you had? For example, having a zoom interview and then getting an offer doesn't raise a red flag? I was the one...

Early Contract
My home town is writing up a contract for me to sign on with them. Its a very generous offer, but I wanted to get some tips on what to make sure is included in the contract and if a lawyer is definitely needed to look over the contract. CMO says it should be done in the next couple of weeks. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Touro-CA vs. Des Moines University
I’m currently really interested in pursuing emergency medicine since I have experience as an EMT and EDT. Although things could change I’d be surprised if I wanted to pursue a ROAD specialty, and see it far more likely I’d succumb to internal med or family med. I don’t know a lot about the clinical education at either of these schools.
Touro CA
Pros
I’m from the Bay Area, work and did my undergrad in San Francisco, and my in-laws live in the Bay
Might have a better chance...

Tarasoff and duty to warn
What are the details of duty to warn?
We had a case where guy wasn’t expressing HI, but when discharged confronted a neighbor who was aggravating him. I know each state has their own laws that define what is reasonable and prudent, but how far are we expected to go? What if target is identified, but you have no way of contacting them? Are you able to notify the apartment manager, or police to notify the target? And how does this play into HIPPA as who we are allowed to contact?
And where...

Court halts Biden ’s student loan forgiveness
Biden knows he doesn’t have the constitutional power to forgive $400 b in student loans. He went ahead anyways knowing that some naive voters would blame it on the other party.

Practicing from abroad legalities
I understand the rules regarding billing CMS and being located outside the US. What I'm wondering is, can a US physician practice abroad and see patients in the US WITHOUT needing a medical license in the country they are physically located in? I imagine different countries have different laws, but does anyone know of at least some countries where a US physician could base themselves and see insurance based patients back in the US (in the state the physician is licensed in)?
